It was bonkers doing 2 timed runs in a day, but to make the first one a parkrun with 'castle' in the name. That's just like putting 'hey this run has a big hill in it' in the name. You did well to do as well as you did, and I'm sure i've got all of these camera mistakes ahead of me yet! 😂

Thanks pal, it was all good fun even if the legs were on fire (but not as much as my shoulders and neck 🥵) Yes a few things in there to keep an eye on for your future recording endeavours lol. One good tip would be always carry a usbc cable with you 🤣🤣

You'll be all set for Blackpool this Saturday mate. Even though there were things that didn't go to plan, you completed the runs and that'll be good experience if it gets tough on Saturday 👏👏👏

Thanks Dean. Yes, this was a good practice run for next weekend. I'm really excited for it so would be really frustrated if I mess anything up. I think it's going to be a special video too ;-)

Haha thanks Andy, I'm all about squeezing as much in as I can. This was a practice run ahead of the Blackpool 10k this weekend when hopefully everything will go to plan 🤪🤣

Cheers Craig. Awesome video. Don't beat yourself up. We all make mistakes - that's why they put rubbers on the end of pencils. 😆 Tough parkrun before your race was always going to be a challenge. I ran a parkrun PB just ONE HOUR before a full marathon, and then struggled badly in the latter stages of the marathon. The race looked awesome. A lovely place to run. Regarding fell running, it might seem like a good idea but we're all different so if you're susceptible to falls then is it worth the risk? Only you can decide. The intensity of fell running also hammers the body so could possibly affect future runs/races if you aggravate a niggle. Something to think about maybe. Thanks again. I did enjoy this video. Ps. Congratulations to friend on an incredible swim/run/race. Very impressive.

Cheers Colin, good point about the pencil haha. I could genuinely fall seated and have zero head for heights. By the time I crawled to the top of the hill I was genuinely terrified of falling back down so I'm really glad I didn't. I have full admiration for folks that do but it really isn't for me, and I'd very much like to stay injury free especially as it's Blackpool run the lights 10k this coming Saturday 😊 A parkrun PB an hour before a marathon makes me feel loads better 😂😂 I'll let Gaynor know you said well done too. Thanks again Colin, appreciated as always 🙏

@@TheRunningWhale Sorry for delay. Effort and a bit of struggle are part of the appeal but running essentially has to be enjoyed. Sometimes, we see people doing races and feel we should be doing it also. I see this quite a lot with marathons and ultras. It's very important to focus on what we enjoy and not be swayed too much by others. Fell runners are amazing but for many, just the thought of them doing long distances on a flat road would be their idea of hell. Good luck in Blackpool. Not had chance to do 'Run the lights' but it looks a brilliant event.

I’m confused 😵💫😂. Multiple runs would screw me up big time. I run every other day at most 😩

Haha I've seen your training, pretty sure it's far more intense than anything I got up to on Saturday lol.
