All non special edition coyotes and modular motors use powder metal rods which are forged like all powered metal rods but not in the traditional sense. Boss 302, Gen 2, and Gen 3 coyote rods increased strength comes from a heavier rod with a thicker beam and upgraded metallurgy over the Gen 1 coyote. Good luck with the new setup.

For a 3-2-1 build is it possible to run different cams while using the gen 1 timing component or has to strictly be gen 1 cams for this build

You can run different cams (aftermarket) but they must be for 2011-2014 model years. Otherwise it won't work.

Very interested in your video can you run VUDU cylinder heads of a GT 350 R on a GEN three short block in S1 97 or will I have to swap the ECU and other components

I too just blew up my stock Gen 1 bottom end on my 2012 Roush Stage 3. My heads and R2300 are still in great shape at only 28k miles. I want to reuse my gen 1 components and supercharger. Did you need to do anything funky to install your RS2300 on the gen 3 block? I’ve heard you often need to do some grinding for it to fit.

Hey, Thanks for watching! I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this. On the bright side, you will come back stronger 😁 Yes, the Gen 3 block actually had an additional 4 spots on the block for knock sensors, which we needed to cut out. These were located mid block and up front. Without these cut out, we couldn't get the blower to sit properly flush.

I didn't block off any ports. You need to use a Gen 2 oil filter housing when you use the gen 3 block. You might already know this but just incase.

@hoonage5 Adding boostane would most definitely help. I still preach to this day to not push more than 10psi on any type of pump gas. Race fuel or E85 if you want to make more than 10lbs.

This a manual car? I picked up a gen 1 with a D1sc with a 4.75 pulley, auto 6r80 I was told it should be at 8 pounds on 93 it’s under warranty I believe tuned by procharger was wondering how safe it is, was told it’d be somewhere in the 580-600 range! Judging by your profile picture, I'm going to assume you're coming from the import platform? I was an import guy up until I bought my Mustang in 2016 👍 Yes, this car is a manual car. 8 lbs of boost on 93 is most definitely safe. 10 or less lbs of boost on pump gas for coyotes is where you're typically safe (600-650whp). Cost to go 321? Depends if you buy new or used block/heads. I'd say expect to pay atleast 7-8k to do it right with good arp head studs etc.

I will be doing a 3-2-1 swap on my gen 1 after 120k miles, it has full exhaust, 18 intake, and 93 tune. After the swap is complete, we plan to get it dyno tuned, but would the current tune be able to start the car? I’m assuming it would with the same timing set up but with different compression ratios and all

You most definitely did! I mix it up, sometimes I'll dump it and other times I'll slip it. We were doing alot of testing in the fall and will be back at testing again come spring 👍
