I was trying to edit my very first camp and got the "cannot be moves structure will not be accesible"error, I mean great feature, and I immediately freaked out but remembered the stair case trick you used in the video and it saved me! Another quick and convenient option for issues with intersecting walls is to swap them to the pavilion walls from one of the recent scoreboards. They still have collision on the outer edges, but the center is completely open and clear to build in. You need to swap to a solid wall with no window or doorway first, but all of the solid wall variants can be swapped to pavilion walls and back again. I found it extremely helpful in a recent build where I was making custom kitchen cabinets with western bar pieces and got tired of the game constantly complaining that they were intersecting with the walls. It's also helpful for quick adjustments to small decor pieces that get picky about how close they are to the wall.

i wish i had watched this video like 5 days ago... i didnt know you had a video on how to get stuff unstuck. i had a freeplaced wall that i accidentally snapped a roof to... and for whatever reason a foundation wouldnt snap to that freeplaced wall (or at least i thought it wouldnt) and uh yeah... my camp was almost done and i had to start over.... it took me 5 days to get to the point i was at lol love your content man, its made me such a better builder

The "free" fortress partitions come with an extra bit of "fuck you". If you already owned the plank partitions, the junk wall variants with the painted planks, well you don't any more because some dipshit must have used the same name for both of them in the atom shop and overwrote one with the other. Been talking to their CS since the patch dropped because since the fortress partitions are bugged as "owned" you can't buy them without buying the entire bundle and you need to buy them to keep them or else like any other bugged atom shop stuff they remove it from your account when they fix it.

I bought the bundle and because I had the junk partitions the bundle had a discount. However I love my junk partitions and want them back and working. At moment the are legacy items so you can't place them as they nolonger exist in the build menu and ones you have built you cant remove , delete or repair.

14:15 you can add upper floor by adding an additional floor to the other side, setting down another corner step and flipping it, but you'll lock the floors in place.

No where near as skilled in building, but just trying to upgrade what I have and I get overwhelmed. I love my “cliff hanger cabin” as I’ve made improvements incrementally, and I’ve been playing for years, but there’s still SO much of my build menu that is locked out because I don’t have the plans and not willing to waste caps buying plans I don’t need. I would LOVE a video going over the most useful items that require obtaining plans rather than buying stuff with atoms, and where to get the plans. Keep up the great content!

I’ve been playing around with designing shelters (didn’t really want to do shelters, but I have no more room on my main camp). The catwalks were given to me early when I first joined into this game about two/three months ago as a Fallout first member. (Free?) I was shocked that I had something that my boyfriend didn't at the time.. I figured it was kind of a random "gift". He got something in the atom shop on his account that I didn't - and I received these minus the poles. When I seen this bundle I actually went ahead and bought it because I have enjoyed these shorter catwalks as shelves and garage-like overhead compartments in my garages. Alongside the rest of the bundle and stairs I have really enjoyed how you took out some of the test work for me. I was doing a bunch of the little tricks you showed here to try and come up with various things and your explanation's helped a lot! I'm sure there will be a lot of neat upcoming builds with these too - I have adored them as paths on the ground.

Would love to catch the docks/their full bundle on the store at some point. It’s sad there isn’t even an option in the support ticket list for any kind of dock, I pretty much always build by water and they’d look great. Also for anybody with the summer camp shelter, since they use docks in the promo pics and it looks great but there’s no way to get them.

These can be used when building an underground camp to remove the stairs that are attached to the foundation. Im not sure if there was another way. It has always bothered me that there were stairs attached to my goundation i couldn't get rid of. Using the corner stairs and catwalks i was able to make my floor slightly lower than the original floor build under it and then remove the original floors and stairs. If you use the plant bed and position it well it can create an almost entirely hidden underground camp.

Wonder if those new pole-supports could be used to create a moderately 'new-ish' looking wall? Can they stack up right next to each other? Hey Mr.Church! Have you got any tricks specifically for building on water? Got a CAMP in Whitespring and some places are erroneously marked as water (also, after latest update the position of water zones changed...), so it's a bit of a pain trying to blend the camp with existing structures. I mean, apart from using foundations. I'm a bit struggling with this and haven't found a single video about this in particular :/

I mean buildlimit to not crash caches with loadin items... ok we all know the crash triangle from Fallout 4. But come on Bethesda just enable cliping already and throw in triangles for go measure. When you were doing that with the door where you slid the foundation over, I couldn't figure out how to do it. My first problem is when I put the door then it won't allow me to delete the wall. How did you delete the wall?

there are a few ways! you just have to "disconnect" the door from the frame so there's no support. One way is to turn the doorway into a normal wall, then you can remove it. The other way is to turn the door into one that doesn't normally snap into a doorframe. If it won't snap into the doorframe, the doorframe isn't gonna be supporting it. To slide the foundation, I pick up the item, hold down on the place button and move it over (this keeps it level up and down)

@@Westville34 yes, OR the burned building set has a similar wall. The other option is to free place it in the corner using the blueprint, but it won’t be as exact and you won’t be able to get it as close

Huh. Got it to place with a rug, but apparently if any part of it (like the upper part of the stairs) overlaps the edge, it counts as intersecting. Just a terrible navcut on this object. So it has to have full clearance. Was able to fudge it a bit by placing it facing the wrong way at first and then swapping it.

Yeah, but all these problems that crop up are indicative of the general problem in video games where developers are contracted for a limited time and all the knowledge of the game and its systems are gone when their contract is up.
