HE DID THE SMARTEST THING CHOOSING a TRIPLE for this BUILD as it’s $10k CHEAPER AND ALaoT of TIME to reach that GIANT 140hp! Plus he has no worries with transmission/clutch issues with a banshee engine (trust me, I know)

@@72mmALKYDRAGGIN he Will never reach 140 since the engine is rated for 109 stock, he searched up the wrong engine, its from an SXR, not an SRX. SRX has a blue topp and is 140 hp ish, SXR har red topp and is 109-115 depending on what People say, ive only seen 109 hp

Denting the 2stroke pipe like that makes difference in power just so you know. Its your build so you can do what you want but i suggest that you maybe buy another pipe and modify the frame more instead, then you'll get more power out of it!

With the pipe modded like that it will not get proper power. Yes putting a much larger sprocket on the rear will help a lot it will never be 100% if you leave the pipe like that

@ it’s a big combination of both. Imagine try to start off from a red light in your car in 5th gear. That why it’s struggling so much to get rpm and pull through the power band

The exhaust on a two stroke is very particular, it might not hit the power band cause the pipe was modified so much.

I wonder if the modifications to the expansion chamber are messing with the carb tuning? Like maybe it needs to be jetted down or something, because usually when you put on a higher performance exhaust you need to upjet, and this is the opposite of installing a high performance exhaust. Even with such a high load on the engine, something about the sound it makes when you try to go faster seems to me like the tuning is off. A much bigger rear sprocket will tell us real quick whether or not that's the case! Awesome build.

Shortening the pipe changes the powerband to a higher rpm. Loosing low end.. extend the pipe, gain low end. Awesome build. I'm half into similar build w rotax 787.

I love the crazy builds you do, and your edits are quality! 2-stroke engines are hugely dependent on very specific exhaust geometry, and I fear that your manifold and pipe modifications are going to cost you a huge amount of power. I saw in a sub-thread that you you may do some exhaust mods - I think that's a great idea and getting back to a stock length manifold and pipe will bring back your lost power. Gearing too for sure isn't helping, but I think the exhaust is your primary performance restriction. Regardless, who cares, it sounds amazing and seemed to be working great. Awesome stuff, really enjoy your channel!

By shortening the pipe that much, you raised the powerband more, and less low end.

Replace the pipe and itll run harder. Thats not gearing thats suffocation. Fought the same problem on a wildcat tripple in a warrior frame. Changes the frame up and put a stock pipe back on and it got past the stumble just fine

Im pretty sure you can turn the top of your shock and make the spring rate a bit different. Hope that helps. It helps to put a ratchet strap on each side and crank those so u dont have so much resistance to fight

it sounds like its got a lean bog right as its about to hit the powerband, you should try raising the fuel needle 1 notch and see if that makes a difference to that bog, also that pipe needs to be a certain shape for the engine to run most efficient , changing the shape so much has almost certainly changed the powerband and i can guarantee you wont get close to that 140hp mark

dont think its the gear ratio thats preventing you from hitting power band, those carbs are very specifcally tuned to the pipe so modifying it that much would mess up the tuning and hurt your low end power

not the gear ratio, its either the modified exhauts, or the pod filters, sled engines are picky with their intake, you throw pod filters on them and they dont like it

so fast, noticed on some big car stuff... if the front toe angle is to wide or narrow, the steering will pull left to right as the one wheel goes over snow vs gravel/pavement on the other side. drift cars with the independent suspension have pushed in rear toe angle that makes them spin out a lot, cars that force the driver into becoming a honing hooligan regardless of them actually trying or not?

That is a red head 700 triple non power valve single pipe... srx 700 is a blue head triple triple pipe with power valve.... you got a redhead vmax/sx engine in the 115ish hp range

The red topp has 109 hp ish, the blue topp from 2000-2002 has 146 ish. It also sounds like it isnt running right at all over 5 k. The gear ratio is probably an issue, but one of the cylinders seems to be bogging. You still have the vacume pump attached i hope for the carbs?

i had my thundercat 1000 triple out 2 days ago. nothing beats the sound and power of a triple. also triples like to warm up for longer and get some heat in those pipes before they want to rev out. yours is kinda cutting out because it hasnt built the heat it needs and the combo of the too high gearing. my thundercat is stock gearing and should go 130.

That’s an SXR 700, not an SRX 700. That’s a single pipe non ves motor. Makes about 110 hp.
