Hi Nick. Thanks for all the hard work you do in getting these videos out to us. You mention at the end of the video that you are considering stopping once this project is complete. I fully appreciate the dedication, time and hard work in producing the videos and can see why you are considering calling it a day but, I for one would like you to continue. You mentioned in past videos that you would cover the demolition of Goodison. If you do nothing else, please do this. I have looked at other droners videos and feel yours is by far the best. It probably helps that you are a blue ( and your passion comes across in your videos)and by being a blue I feel you would be exactly the right person to record the Grand Ole Lady being taken down…….

Maybe the redevelopment of the Goodison site, and a match day video at Everton Stadium too!

Nick, I am intrigued by your leading comments at the signing-off. I hope that all is well? PoI's: 1) At 3:37 mins, I CAN understand why you didn't want to include my reply to Darren about the water channel filling process, which was later confirmed by EFC's official video as it was lengthy. And, anyway, drum roll, it's now "all water under the bridge"! 2) At 3:38 mins, we can see a patternation on the southern end of the Lower Promenade. I think they're laying the under-structure for the expected composite decking. 3) At 3:39 mins, we can see how, excluding the detritus on the surface, the water at the SE corner and along the East edge of the water channel, the water has cleared a little and darkened slightly. This is in part due to the nature of the freshwater coming up from the water table but also a little through the southern Isolation Bridge. It creates a very slight current and it takes the easiest, shortest route to exit the northern Isolation Bridge. which is largely the eastern half of the channel. 4) At 3:40 mins, the 4 large chunky black posts or barriers that were located on the West Quay have been moved about. they are the vertical posts for the Wind Baffle Gates situated off the Mezzanine at the SW Corner (look at the bottom left of the shot at 2:03 mins to see one of the posts inserted). 5) I am curious as to how they will remove the floating sand and flotsam/jetsom. The boom just inside Sandon Dock prevents it getting into the main docks area. 6) At 8:41 mins, we can see how far along the base wall they have now installed the northern perimeter Security Fence posts. 7) At 9:40, the area next to the inside of the Regent Road wall, with astroturf being laid in it, is probably for dogs (I expect the wits amongst us will come up with a quip with regard to the team). 8) At 10:45 mins, we can see that they have located the pairs of Companion Seats for the Accessibility Away Fans. 9) At 11:39 mins, in the wide platform behind/above the main TV Camera plinth and Commentators platform being discussed, LoR have installed a full row of 'normal' seats. This is a surprise and not on the plans. That platform was supposed to have more pairs of Companion Seats along that platform. I am interested to see how the layout unfolds as it must surely still be allocated for Accessibility in some format. 10) Finally, Nick, the issue of the statues relocation is NOT down to a limiting factor of space or potential locations at BMD. The issue is whether they should be moved from GP, where those players played. There WILL be large stones for those players and many more legends, like Big Nev, located in the Everton Way. Personally I'd be made up IF my stone ends up being next to Alan Ball's, however unlikely. I suspect that I'm in the minority of thing that the statues should be left at GP, where they will continue to be revered by Toffees and the GP neighbourhood as part of a sensitive GP development. It's a disgrace that we have to look so far back for legends, with so many Toffees never having seen those legends play. We need to create new lores (is that a SD "Change the Narrative"?) and legends at BMD.

Question for you David, and apologies if it's already been covered elsewhere, but the People's Project renderings show decorative edgings on the western waterway channel that don't appear to be there. Is that a change of plan or are they be added later? Seems unlikely now that the water has been allowed in.

@@colingillbanks4022 Hi, Colin. Don't be apologising for asking a question. Always happy to try to answer any Q directed to me. If you can, try to help me see what you have seen, i.e. to which images you're referring. List the keywords I should use in my Internet Browser (you can't use a Hyperlink as YT block it and delete comments including them). E.G. If you use "Everton", Goodison Park" and "Development" you find the Goodison Legacy project plans, without providing a direct hyperlink (I'm sorry if I'm explaining how to suck eggs). The reason for asking is that there have been several releases of "imaginations" not relevant to the passed plans. If you feed "People's Project", "Everton" into a browser you get a long list of companies and engineering articles, all using some old imaginations of the project. I don't recall seeing any customisation of the fabric of the Heritage Assets and can't imagine them being passed for enacting, if they were ever presented. However, as several plans have been changed along the way I am always open-minded to my having missed something.

Darren is wrong about the water channel , Everton released the video explaining the water channel . It went according to plan . As for the difference in shade of water ,Nelson dock is a fresh water dock whereas the sandon halftide dock is a mix of salt water so the colour of the water is different.
@DarrenCowzer-cx7otАй бұрын
@Guesswho-qk2kv - Everton / LoR stated that the channel might take days to fill up, it filled up very very quickly, so either Everton were not telling the truth initially or afterwards, people can decide which themselves 👌

@DarrenCowzer-cx7ot It wouldn't be Everton not telling the truth to be fair. It would be Laing O'Rourke I would think as they're the one's controlling the build and updating on plans and progress. I suspect that the plans just changed slightly. All seems to be fine anyway.

I think it is a mistake not to relocate the statues to BM. In particular, the Dixie statue is perfectly poised to place it on the West Stand terrace with his open arms pointed towards his native Wirral.

The statue issue is a biggie imho. Primarily, we honour the legends of our club at our home. All Evertonians respect the honour Dixie and the trinity brought to our club, it’s a focus for us and can only remain a focus if the statues are where we play. I’m in favour of marking the current location with plaques and connecting old to new by relocating our heroes at our new home, where they will continue to be revered. I wonder if there has been any consultation between the club and the families of our icons? That would hold the most sway with me. Totally agree with other comments that big Nev should be recognised and inducted into the legends gallery.

I'm of the same view. The statues are of the club, not of a time. If they are of a time why was the Dixie statue put up nearly 70 years after he stopped playing for us? And the Holy Trinity was erected nearly 50 years after they no longer played together for us. The club will be at BMD not Goodison Road and the statues should be there with it. They evoke our history as a club. The fans come and pay homage to that history and those legends. That's why they were ereceted. They weren't erected for the benefit of the neighbours around Goodison so what possible reason is there to leave them there? They were erected for the benefit of Evertonians and the Evertonians will be at BMD. I'm not sure who decides these things but why would they think it appropriate to leave a statue of arguably Everton Football Club's greatest ever player (W R Dean) to the residents of Walton rather than take it with them for Evertonians to continue to pay homage AT Everton Football Club's stadium. Like others, I'd also like to see a new one of Nev and I'm surprised there isn't one to the club's only ever World Cup winner, Ray Wilson. West Ham had one of him though (albeit with three of their players).

Mike: the mesh-like, rhomboid sections in the barrel-cladding relate to the air extraction outlets behind them. There are fewer Hospitality Lounge and Satellite Kitchen facilities in the East Stand than there are in the West Stand, which is the main hospitality stand. The asymmetry has been doing a lot of people's head in but Dan Meis, the architect, wanted each stand to be different in appearance and that the engineering involved should be noted and seen, not hidden away in pretence.

Digby: Yes, there will be Branding and Insignia. In the plans there are numerous locations identified, including the barrel-cladding, the windows, brick facades, on portals and on various locations around the concourses and plazas, contrary to rumour. However what IS true is that it won't be quite so "in your face" as the very early images released that were only imaginations to pique interest. Subsequent images released at the planning stage toned that down to acquiesce heritage Stakeholders concerns and Planners sensitivity. EFC will be undertaking the customisation after LoR have completed. It doesn't make sense for EFC to procure and install all the signage until it's known what the result of the Naming Rights project is as many of the locations would be taken up by the sponsors rather than EFC.

The Sun will be in the North West Corner for early games I believe, and will be a little further West for the 3 pm kick offs. The West Stand will be in shadow and the fans in the East Stand will be looking into the sunshine. Ideal for goalkeepers though as it won't be in their eyes.

@DuncTheBlue1878 - I seen an interview with Dan Meis were he said that the sun wouldn't be in the goalkeepers eyes, due to the orientation they chose for the ground. It would be Great Nick if you could do a video at 12:30 and 13:45 and 3 pm and 4 pm and 5 pm to show the sun's position relative to the 2 x goals (especially the North goal).
@davidbadcock2225Ай бұрын
Andy: it's actually pretty difficult to melt down into one easy sentence. It depends entirely what time of year the match is being played, never mind the time of day. The sun's traverse across the sky is entirely different in August or May from that in December. Frankly, it would need a spreadsheet with one axis being the day of the year and the other being the time of the day, relevant to the 'hole' in the roof, which would require a fair bit of scientific calculations, ignoring the fact that light penetrating a 'hole' actually ripples after passing through it. It's the sort of question that AI should answer in a trice. But, I like challenges, so here's a precis based on regular kick-off times and the 2 extremes for seasons of August/May and December. 1) 12:30 hrs kick-offs: In August/May the sun will be fairly near the zenith (overhead) but slightly to the west, so most direct sunlight will be on the N and E 90% of the pitch and the lowest terraces of the lower tier of the N, NE and E sections. In December the sun will be quite low in the sky and the sun will probably only shine directly at the terraces of the lower tiers of the N and NE and probably some of the upper tier too. 2) 15:00 hrs kick-offs: In August/May the sun will be high but towards the NW, so the area of the pitch with sunlight would be about 60% of the pitch (the SE direction) with the Lower Tiers of the E and SE sections getting some rays. In December the sun will be close to disappearing over the horizon and so there will be no sun on any part of the pitch or terraces. 3) 17:30 hrs kick-offs: In August/May, the sun will be well towards the NW, so we should expect a little of the E side and SE corner of the pitch to be in sunlight with most of the Lower Tiers and maybe even the bottom of the Higher Tier of the southern end of the E stand and the SE corner to be bathed. There will be no sunshine at this time in winter. 4) 19:45 hrs kick-offs: In August/May, the sun will be well towards the NW, so some of the SE corner terraces may be getting it. There is no sunshine in winter at this time.

Am I right in thinking that the old dock wall, which now contains the blue glass stones, will be covered in some kind of transparent polyurethane?
@davidbadcock2225Ай бұрын
Sultan: No, in the same way that Heritage Rails' grooves or old cobbles aren't covered in plastic either. The Heritage Stakeholders would have a dizzy-fit. It isn't as uneven as you might think and rather like approaching a roadside kerb, people should take some care when walking to actually look at the ground. Crikey, people will be falling on stairs, the terraces or tripping into benches and balustrades, whatever, if they don't wear appropriate footwear and look where they are going! I guess that's part of modern society: personal responsibility on the decline and it's always someone else's fault. Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox. Best wishes to you.

@radadvisory8614 Thankyou for input

Phillip: At 11:21 mins in this video, the TV studio is behind the Northern or Right-hand half of the glass you can see between the two tiers, above the vomitory to the Accessibility Platform above the Pitch Access Tunnel. The southern/left-hand half of the glass is the studio for the Main Security Hub.

On the subject of the Statues: I think if the History of Everton F.C means anything to the new owners (whomsoever they might be) then the Statues MUST be relocated to BMD. End of story!
@TeddyArmitageАй бұрын
I’ve been told by a very good source Nick that they are leaving the Holy Trinity statues where they are at Goodison and have left space at Bramley Moore for a bronze Sean Dyche and Steve Stone statue?! That’s what I’ve heard! 🤷🏻♂️😜 Teddy

Utter nonsense! The Michael Keane and Ashley Young statues are nearly finished and will have pride of place in the main fan zone plaza

@@DuncTheBlue1878 I knew my sources were talking nonsense! Thanks for clearing this up Dunc! 🤜🏼🤛🏼

Won’t be long until start laying the pitch
@davidbadcock2225Ай бұрын
CT: They're already laying the pitch and it requires several layers. I guess you mean you think that they will be laying the top layer (sandy soil) and starting the seeding, "soon".
@DavidOwens-b5yАй бұрын
I disagree with the issue about the statues. Dixie and the holy trinity are synonymous with the history of Goodison Park and to remove them from Goodison would take away that history. The new stadium needs a new history and new memories.
@rudderless1975Ай бұрын
Anyone know what's going to happen to the old Archibald Leitch cross cross balconies once Goodison Park is demolished?
@DuncTheBlue1878Ай бұрын
Sold to the highest bidder, probably
@blokefellaАй бұрын
they should put them up along the east stand.its mad that were seeming to reference them around the new stadium when we ve still actually got the original leitch.
@DuncTheBlue1878Ай бұрын
@@blokefella They’ll probably have plans to incorporate them into the structure of the new buildings at the Goodison Legacy Project. I’d be amazed if they didn’t
@MartynJones-bv2ydАй бұрын
Statues of Dixie and the Holy Trinity should stay where they are because that's where they did their stuff - I get the idea they should come with us but they have no connection with Bramley Moore and they will remind us of our previous home where they became legends.
@davegerrard4960Ай бұрын
Martyn, I understand your sentiments completely. As sad as it will be to leave Goodison, we need a new home and a great connection between the two stadiums is to move our icons with us.

Where are supporters going to park. Is there going to be specials running from city centre. Should have built in ferry port for Wirral fans.. Getting in and out will be a problem.

Droners can still fly and film at BMD next week because the no fly zone doesn’t extend that far north - it’s much further south, covering the city centre area
