I sang this to keep my composure enough to study after having been informed that my best friend died, the death being 11 days earlier, but the news of the death coming RIGHT in the middle of exams. I remember the band always claiming that this album sounded way better before the record label remixed & released it. Without a doubt they are right. It isn't even close. The original mixes & arrangements are way better. Just goes to show you how so called 'experts' can screw something up.

I disagree also. The Leathur Records version of this album is just about unlistenable. I thought Vince was flat on the Elektra Records version, but it's really bad here. Always dug them more that the other “hair metal” bands...and really, I never saw them as that. They had something different and more original going on. It’s seemed like they were all about taking chances, rather than using a sure hitting formula, tried and tested by someone else...namely the bands that came after who rode their coattails. Like they said, they never intended to become a Heavy Metal band, but on “Shout” they did just that, they went for a vibe...and that’s what came out. That’s what makes them truly cool, legendary, and why they make movies about them

@@legacyXplore In highschool, I was fortunate enough to own an original first print Leathur Records TFFL and my friend had the Stick to your guns/Toast of the Town single. We had a plug at a local record store, who, if you were cool enough allowed access to hundreds of bootleg records. These were mostly live shows recorded off the soundboard without artist consent, demo tapes, and studio tape of the song making process. I found an awesome Crue show during the Bark at the Moon/Shout at the Devil tour that sounded incredible. Nowadays, you can get this stuff on the web, but back in the olden days, you had to hustle and get to know people to get the good stuff. Today, everything is minutes away it seems and that is great but part of me misses "the hunt". You'd hear that a certain show was recorded (Crue was always my fav), talk to record store/ music shop guys until you found someone that could hook you up with a copy.convince them to sell you one and that you weren't a rat..get home and hope it was the real thing and not a sleeve printed up to scam some music lovers.. TLDR yes I've heard of these and others a long time ago and there are still songs/shows I am looking for...

@ LOL that is incredible. To even be present when that video was shot would be insane. It’s an iconic video. You should do a few KZbin videos sharing some of these memories. I have no doubt you have many others. I was born in 1977 and considered myself lucky that I at least was able to experience music before things changed. One of my earliest memories is being in the car with my mom and dad driving around listening to music. It would go from Mollie Hatchet to Van Halen to Deep Purple and on and on.
