I am experimenting with different styles and moods in my videos to hopefully evolve as a youtuber. In this video I was inspired by Casey's return to vlogging. What did you think of this video?

@@MicaelWidell thats quite obvious. I saw u like some vintage lenses... Check out zenit helios 44m-7 58mm... Its nice one. I used it for macro and i was amazed by sharpness. I might even love it a bit more than sigma 50mm F2.8 Macro Lens i have...of course... I use it with tubes.

@@MicaelWidell i am no expert, but when i got my sony a6000 with two kit lenses i realised how useless they are. Even at beginner level i can see that i dont like 16-50 and 55-210mm lenses by sony.... So being on a budget i bought few old ones. I like that i need to work harder to get their potential on... Which i am sure will be helpful once i buy some AF lenses.... Learn hard way and then with modern stuff its gonna be piece of cake.... Anyway, thsnks a lot for all of your videos. Looking forward to see what u think about zenit 😀😀

In 2015 I bought a GM5, and I am so happy with this camera. My favourite lens right now is a TT Artisans 23mm f1.4. It has great fieldvand bokeh. The lens has no electronic connection, but I am used to using manual fous and setting f stop. I also have a G80 with a fold out monitor, which I miss on the GM5, but apart from that it a great and lightweight little camera

The GM5 and GM1 are the only cameras I have that don't show grips when using the Laowa 4mm circular fisheye. And they're tiny enough to put them in some interesting places. Unfortunately, they can't be used as webcams...no video over the HDMI port.

Hey Micael, $35. well spent. We like small, we like cheap and portable. Cake was good also. Now, sufficiently inspired by this, I'm off shooting... don't care what. Cheerio.

I have many m43 cameras, and both, the GM1 and GM5. I love them, especially for portraits. I use the Pana/Leica 45/2.8 for portraits, because it has internal IS. Then I have the camera in my palm, look at the subject and wait for the moment. No one expect me to shoot like that, and I got those pictures no one else ain't getting. I can see the screen in the distance, and get framing and closer to the subject. I've done fine art portraits with that setup, and 60x45 cm pictures on the wall is as nice as with other cameras, but I get that fine art moment in my pictures. Those two cameras are the modern Contax T3, especially with the Pana/Leica 15/1.7

About two years ago, I can't say for certain when, I received a phone call on my mouse, I couldn't make out what the person was saying, it sounded like it was in some sort of code, now after watching this video it all seems to be falling into place.

BTW, GM1 is not GM5 without viewfinder. I got both, and GM1 misses also some functions (Auto ISO on manual mode for example). So GM5 is better buy although GM1 is even smaller.

Jack of All Trades PL I have the GM5. I bought it new years ago. I just have it with the kit lens. I sold my other lens when I moved to APS-C. I wanted better low light capability. Better sensor and viewfinder. Still I did not sell it. I was hoping for a GM6 but they killed the line. I really like the size.

Between the GM1and GM5 which one do you prefer, given the low quality view finder in the GM5 but better button functionality?
@MicaelWidell
@MicaelWidell 3 жыл бұрын
Hard choice. Maybe I prefer the GM1 as the viewfinder on the GM5 hardly adds any value.

Is it the same sensor of GX80? I was looking for a GX80 but somebody suggest me this camera for a compact setup. Not even sure GX80 EVF would be better. Thanks
@MicaelWidell
@MicaelWidell 3 жыл бұрын
I have no idea if it is the same sensor or not. What I can tell you is that the GM5 viewfinder is by far the worst EVF I have tried. It is a lot worse than you can imagine :) But still better than nothing.

I own such a lens, and I shot tons of delicious photos with it. It is dissapointing that you could not focus on infinity. On the contrary, on my lens, there is a slight overshoot for infinity. Maybe the quality is unstable. By the way, Mitakon 17mm 0.95 appeared on aliexpress for a price of only $339 (for today). This one is a bigger and hevier, and less of "every day carry" kind
@MicaelWidell
@MicaelWidell 4 жыл бұрын
I just discovered that there is a screw on the lens that I can probably use to adjust the infinity focus distance. Will try that.
