I have a 92 hardrock same color. Those are badass bikes. Those new Deore v brakes are great. They bite just as hard as disc's. The billy bonkers tires make that a real fast bike on pavement n gravel. Best thing it's steel and makes a smooth ride. Great build.

The bike most of us should be riding and having more fun on if it weren't for the slammed bar high seat post drop bar bikes we're told are cool. Simple practicality and comfort. Love it. I've been to Amsterdam and watched cyclists on bikes like this blasting along with 2 kids onboard.

An old shop hack for removing a stuck threaded bottom bracket is to clamp the BB tool in a bench vise and rotate the bike frame (in the correct direction) as the lever. You can get an amazing amount of leverage from the chain stays. Sometimes it is useful to have a friend push down on the BB to keep the tool engaged or thread a nut onto the tool (like in the video).

Nicely done! That is a seriously low first gear..I run a 38t chain-ring and 32t largest cassette gear and it is a very low gear....Are you planning on going up vertical walls??
@racerx8410712
@racerx8410712 Жыл бұрын
The rear big ri g is bigger than a 32t. I'm not sure what it is but even if it's a 52t then that along with the 38t front results in a .73 final low which is not very low. Had they went with the 30t front then the ratio would be a crazy .57 (and probably 16 gear inches), which is wall climbing stuff. If it were me I would pick a front ring that allows me to use most of the cassette. A 32t or 34t. I would run 2x though to keep the cluster tight.
@TheBikeSauce
@TheBikeSauce Жыл бұрын
He does want to climb some steep stuff in LA, but it’s not too crazy. I’m not sure there’s a rear der that can handle 2x with an 11-51 cassette
@racerx8410712
@racerx8410712 Жыл бұрын
@@TheBikeSauce I think Russ from PLP has a 2x with a big cassette. Not sure what D he's using....I like to run a 11-36 cassette on most of my builds. On my 26ers I like that along with a 24t/32t front ring setup. I also like four bolt double bcd cranks as they allow for a world of ring options.
