I spent about a year in Southwest Louisiana back in the 1970's. I knew Shine Mouton, Vin Bruce, Doc Guidry, and several other old-timers back then. My fiddle still sports the left-handed rosewood chinrest Lionel Leleux made for me back then. I think he charged me $15. When I was there, the oldtimers reminisced about an accordian player and bandleader named Lawrence Walker. Did you know any of the former members of the Atchafalaya Basin Band?

Mr. Reed, my name is Clarice Martel, I am SO enjoying your channel. My family is an old cajun family from south LA, not many folks know what a traiteur is! Just watched your video on how coffee is such a big part of our culture-So true! I grew up with alot of the old type music, and I have just picked up the fiddle as an adult, and am really enjoying it. Thanks again for the great content. Also, any advice for beginner cajun tunes to start with?
