Girl, I am not sure what is more fabulous, your instruction technique, your easy voice, or those nails! I could watch and listen to you for hours. Your tutorials are so easy to follow, you make things easy to see, by focusing well on each stitch, bringing things closer or out, depending on what you are bringing our attention to, in the work. Thank you, for your concise, precise, instructions and easy manner. 💕

Thank you for this video! I was just working on a mitred square until I realized I was making a lovely "L" shape...I couldn't understand why I was decreasing only on one side, but now I see where I went wrong! Very clear tutorial :)

Love this! Can you also do this jayg? Like your granny square tutorial where you replace the chains for slipstitches. Love to know that :)

The looks like so much FUN! And easier to do mindfully than other types of square motifs. I am now going to go find the Tunisian hook I bought years ago.

Hi there! Discovered your channel (and Tunisian crochet) three days ago, subscribed, and am now obsessed. In my first learning attempts, I’ve noticed that I have tension problems. My first several rows flare out on the sides, compared to successive rows. Also, my first slip stitch knot on my foundation chain is enormous and cannot be snuggled up. I am a very consistent gauge knitter and it drives me crazy that I can’t do this! Could you maybe do a tutorial about the secrets of consistent tension? I’m betting it has something do do with how you anchor each stitch with your fingers as you work. You are an excellent teacher!

anybody confused about picking up until the middle, cause I know I was, take your number of stitches, subtract 3 from it, and divide that by 2. so i had 25, minus 3 is 22, and divided by 2 is 11. after picking up 11 stitches in my work, i had 3 stitches in the center, and then 11 more stitches, for a total of 25.

Thank you, such easy direction I'm looking forward to making these. I've been learning to do it with knitting, but I do like Tunisian crochet more. Is there a way to crochet the squares together as you go, instead of trying to sew a bunch of completed ones together after? Would love to see a video on that, because I want to make a blanket from them

That looks easier than knitting one. For the last loop do you cut the yarn and pull the tail trough the loop to fasten off and weave in or cut the yarn and pull the loop out and then weave in?

Do you have any tipson how to loosen your gage? All of my squares have been tighter than they were supposed to be and I've had to stretch them to the limit to get them to be 12"×12". I think I could work faster if I loosened up, too.

So glad I found your channel. I am an avid crocheter but just found the rabbit hole on Tunisian. I am trying to make an Afghan from a pattern using this same square and amount of stitches… but I am only using one color…. So my question is … at the end of the first row where you change color you have 2 loops still on your hook… would I just continue pulling 2 through until I only have 1?

Thank you for asking this. I saw a mitered square knit blanket using gradated yarns (basically a single yarn though I will do squares out of at least 3 different yarns-don't ask LOL) and though just getting back to crochet (was a long time professional weaver, before then a spinner and used both crochet and knit for projects) and considering Tunisian because I like the texture of knit more so than crochet. Finding this channel is a big help-and you've just asked a good question that I need answered also--I haven't even bought Tunisian hooks but am considering it because of this channel.

You're videos have gotten me to ditch knitting and explore Tunisian! One question on this stitch, how do you crochet connect the squares? In knitting, you can just knit the next square onto the first one. I don't want to have to sew together individual squares. I have a pattern for a knit color change blanket that uses mitered squares, but for that you knit the squares as you go and there is a pattern that creates triangles so you can square the edges off. Would LOVE to be able to make this in Tunisian, but am not up for having to stitch a tub of squares together.

I know this reply was a year ago but for anyone coming late, you can adjust the speed up in right corner--the gear icon--click on playback and choose a slower speed OR--just pause it, do your hooking, start again to catch up.

It is the middle of the night and I’m trying to reverse-engineer your Lamia wrap so I can make it square. Why am I doing this? …for a LARP costume piece, Aka to make something my character would wear. I am an idiot, but I am going to be a very well-educated idiot.
