This looks so good to be true. I’ll definitely check it out

This project is brilliant. I’m mostly interested in understanding which APIs and patterns are either un-implemented, or impossible to implement in mitosis. The limitations will be important to understand deeply. Also hoping I can use Svelte as the source of truth… but even if I had to write raw mitosis for max reliability and compatibility I would be down to learn it… An AST for frontend frameworks is such a dope idea 😂. Seemed too ambitious to be true when I discovered it back in the early days, but it seems to be going strong!

I have a large-scale component library, typescript, wide variety of complicated react logic and integrations. What sort of guarantee does Mitosis provide that an monolithic style application will function the exact same way in a converted version?
@Steve87082 ай бұрын
The project is in beta so can’t guarantee 100% automatically, but you can write unit and/or e2e tests that test the outputs to automatically tell you if all outputs are correct or not
@JlNGLEZ2 ай бұрын
@@Steve8708 rewriting unit tests for an entire suite of components for a monolithic application in a different framework isn't viable, but I'll be keeping an eye on this!

If I understand correctly you'll only have to write e2e tests once, not for every framework, just saying that because I felt you understood otherwise
@JlNGLEZ2 ай бұрын
@@yassinesafraoui I didn't understand otherwise, in what world would you only have to write tests once?

Do you have plans of adding support for the other versions of some of these frameworks. For example the changes needed for SvelteKit or SolidStart

Uhh… aren’t those all Jsx frameworks?

ah yes, angular.jsx is my favorite
@yassinesafraoui2 ай бұрын
Yes but each one of them have different ways of handling state and doing logic, I guess they're trying to write a library that will convert your state logic and stuff like that to the corresponding equivalent in each library

@yassinesafraoui2 ай бұрын
@@jamesgphillips91 well in that case you won't be using any frameworks, and good luck doing everything yourself, last time I tried using web components it was such a pain in the ass to set them up that I gave up the whole thing and moved on

Why the hell do I need to do that? Let’s all just write React before AI devs take over instead of making this mess more complicated.
