I commute 17,280km a year. 60km a day 6 days a week, 48 weeks a year. One way is 30km. I charge up at home and drive into work for virtually free. I arrive at work and charge up while working. I then drive home for free. On my days off our family goes for long cross country drives. We live in a rural location without a charging network. PHEVs are absolutely perfect for those of us with a regular commute and then an irregular holiday. 🎉

I am very happy with mine! It got all the extras (A similar equipped Toyota would cost so much more) And Toyota does not have the Mitsubishi Superior-AWD :)

Have one. Perfect for those who live in regional areas and/or who do 90% of their driving in low speed daily commute situations, plus want to be able to do the occasional longer trip away without range anxiety. We use ours most of the time around town in EV mode and hardly use any fuel, the 45 - 50km range is adequate. It is true that the efficiency comes down to driving style and if you have a lead foot or not. The less hard acceleration and the more you are able to keep the car in motion the more efficient it is. The regenerative breaking is surprisingly very good, in particular when using the breaking levels. If you are doing higher speed commutes, say on motorways, or longer daily commute distances, then full EV options are probably a better option. It will not be as efficient in these circumstances.

Is American terminology of "compact" and "sub-compact" cars a thing in Australia now? 🤔 My understanding is that the Mitsubishi PHEVs can do V2H as well as V2L?

You can easily run through the Tochigi, Nikko, and Irohazaka passes in Japan. Although it doesn't have the anti-lag system or features of the Lancer Evolution, please purchase a Mitsubishi vehicle so that Mitsubishi can develop a new Lancer Evolution.

Living in South Africa we don't always have electricity and water.. this car can run my home or shop during our national black outs.. pity about no spare wheel.. being stuck on the side of the road here would mean ones demise.

I bought one just over six months ago, driven 18 000 km, and regret it. Fuel consumption given as 2ltr/100km, reality is rarely less than 7. On autobahns (120 - 130kmh) you can expect 9 - 10 ltr/100k. Range is therefore inadequate, especially in France where there are often long distances between junctions and fuel stations. Several times I tanked with only just over 1ltr in the tank. The navi is next to useless in that as soon as the sun gets near the horizon the screen goes into night mode and is unreadable. I tried finding a route to the nearest filli8ng station ... it took me to a green field and then to a station that sold only diesel for trucks. Use a smart phone with Google Maps or Michelin. The range in the batteries is only about 30 km... I don't bother to charge up any more, especially as electricity is a more expensive fuel than petrol in Germany. Tank contents indication is inaccurate. Example: Distance to cheap fuel, 150km. Indicated range in tank, 200+. 10km before the fuel station the fuel contents shows 0 The rear hatch is a problem in underground car parks with a low ceiling because of the angle below the rear window. The light in the luggage area is useless. It needs to be repositioned so that it shines down on the luggage area when the back is open. Plus points: it is comfortable and quiet except when the engine is working hard. Lights are excellent. Four-wheel drive in snow is superb.

If your commute is not in the EV battery range (50+ km) then why buy a PHEV? Should've gone with regular ICE or full EV car.
@pierrebuffiere5923
@pierrebuffiere5923 Жыл бұрын
@@neogenesus As it turns out, you are right. There is much wisdom in hindsight. I was told that fuel consumption would be around 4 - 5 ltrs/100km. I have now gone back to a diesel vehicle. Since I bought it, the price of both petrol and electricity has increased and diesel has decreased. It is now more expensive to run on electricity than petrol . No wonder the price of EVs and PHEVs has dropped dramatically. By the way, the realistic battery range is only about 30km.

Two Litres per 100 km is not silly though. It’s highly unlikely that fuel will get cheaper in coming years, so less silly again.

Like anything, you got to know how to use this Phev to get the max return. Charging a 14kWh battery cost a few dollars, relatively cheaper than petrol. Given this make will allow the driver to select EV mode for about 45kms including driving up hills, that to me would cover most daily commute in urban areas. Not too shabby huh.

It should be mentioned that it is ~350 kg heavier than the exactly the same petrol exceed, do you basically dragging 4x 85kg dudes all the time hence your fuel consumption on a highway will be terrible by the 2023 merits as it is in a full petrol mode is the velocity is more than 60 km/h.

Nice car, but the PHEV era is over. They would have been nice 15-20 years ago. They combine the worst of both worlds: if you charge it, you don't need the combustion engine anyway which you have to maintain too. If you don't charge it, you carry a heavy battery. There are EVs out there, who cover the range for the vast majority of people and if you really need extra range, you can still rent a car just for that and not carry it the whole year.

To make this car better…….. Remove the batteries and electric motors to reduce weight. This will give massively better fuel economy and increase range.
