@skylinefever2 жыл бұрын
Typically if and engine is disassembled enough to remove the crank, the engine gets a quick hone and a new set of piston rings. I'm fairly certain 4G63T pistons rings are that expensive anyway. You don't have to get full price rings from the stealership. NPR makes a lot of OEM rings for Japanese cars and they cost less than dealer price. 6:26 I didn't expect someone in the UK to be using a measuring tool in inches. The country went metric ages ago. In the USA, many people use a tool that measures inches because they were left over from when cars weren't metric. Good measuring tools cost a lot of money, so using conversions on metric engines made sense. I'm glad to see the name "Mitutoyo" on the micrometer. Cheap precision measuring tools usually aren't accurate. 8:00 You have to take a second measurement after polishing. If it's good, then you can move on. If not, the first undersize for a 4g63T crank is -.25mm 8:56 AYC pumps are very expensive. However, if your core is decent, some specialists can rebuild them.

Anybody else notice the sump bolts were already missing as he turned the engine over
@richardburns5925 Жыл бұрын
That's because..........they are a faff to all undo and usually the sump is stuck. So....... quickly showing us him turning the engine over on the stand with a bolt still in to hold the sump, then undoing a sump bolt and lifting the sump straight off is a better clip and shorter than showing him undoing all the bolts, prising the sump off.......its TV dude.
