What’s the older one you are comparing to? The older PHEV models like 2018/17 or the older shape Outlander from 2013 and older

up to 2017/2018 model with the smaller and much more louder 2.0 internal combustion engine. There are a lot o subtle differences on the technical part such as larger drive battery, more powerful front / rear electric motors, more efficient Atkinson cycle 2.4 engine, etc.

Well, looks like you are very happy with it. I'm sure it cost an "arm & and leg" for all that fancy stuff. Back in 1980, I had an all electric car, a 2 seater. It was powered by 8 6volt deep cycle marine lead/acid batteries, and one 12v deep cycle lead acid battery for lights, windshield wiper, radio, etc. It had a top speed of 42 mph (68 kph) on a flat road, carrying one person with no wind. It had a range of about 30 miles (48 km) in average weather, +/- up to 15% if it was hot (more distance) or cold (less distance). Things have sure changed in the past 40 years! Thank you Bill, indeed the technology has advanced a lot, luckily we get some some advantages in getting such car as it's tax free and we get a big price reduction in case you trade off an old 8+ year old car. Only driven it 550 km until now but it already made me love it because of the electric motors and torque. The fuel efficiency is also very good for a 2 ton 4WD gasoline SUV, just 6.68 liters / 100km until now. If I charge it from the mains the average will decrease further as it gets up to 55+ km just on EV / battery mode.

I still have the car and after almost 5 years I can still recommend it. The fuel consumption is rather good for this type of car, I can get something like 6.5-6.8 l/100km on long trips without using any kind of charge and consider it has 2000kg empty and it's a 4x4 SUV. As for reliability it's a great model as it's rather simplified, no gearbox, no belts and pulleys, no alternator or starter motor so a lot less to break or to maintain. E una dintre cele mai neînțelese mașini, nu doar de pe la noi, ci in general. Este in primul rand deosebit de fiabila, apoi consumul este foarte bun pentru 4x4, benzina de 2 tone.

2.4 e o alegere bună, motorul e un pic mai rafinat și mai eficient decât cel de 2 litri. De asemenea motoarele electrice au fost îmbunătite, iar bateria de tracțiune are capacitate mai mare. Atenție la bateria de tracțiune sa nu fie "resetată" de un "Dorel".

I have this version and it's great but for some reason you can no longer use cruise control in pure EV. Why? Great review though.

I have never used just "EV" mode, usually it's in NORMAL or SAVE. Do you have the adaptive cruise control? Maybe the radar sensor is dirty.

@@TechTronic9000 Hi The previous version allowed ev mode and cruise, now as soon as you switch on cruise control the car switches to the engine. Very annoying as you have to keep your foot on the pedal at all times to use EV. I can only guess that cruise uses more energy so to extend the battery range they have done this. I like the car though as it gets me to work for virtually nothing.

Yes for city usage it's superb, also for long trips it is very relaxing to drive and the fuel consumption is not bad at all.

Am văzut mulți posesori care se plângeau că la modelele fabricate până în 2018 apărea în timp o problemă cu capacitatea bateriei. Mai exact, într-un an de utilizare se pierdea aproape 15-20% din capacitatea bateriei, lucru tradus într-o autonomie scăzută cu până la 10 km în modul EV. Oare s-a corectat acest lucru la modelul 2019?

Este o problema de soft, bateria e ok. Apare si la modelele 2019 si 2020, dar se poate rezolva destul de usor.

My son bought a chevy bolt , nice but too small coming from a Jeep Grand Cherokee this one might work for us as I want the 4 x 4 as our climate needs that. Love what some would call the old style system interior .
