Is there a certain senor to a certain hole i see there different colours. Mine won't lock into 2wd all the rest work fine but was going to check the connection's first for corrosion and clean them failing that buy the complete set and change them all
@IAMASPANNER3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the wires and plugs are colour coded. Best way is to only remove one at a time but there are diagrams online. Remove each switch and lubricate the hole as well as the switch. It’s not necessarily the switches that fail, the ball bearing that touches the switch gets stuck.

Great thanks I will check it out

The ball bearings are down in the hole part?

That's a very helpful video if your Montero is affected by the dreadful blinking orange light...lol. Did you disconnect the propeller shaft at the rear diff before you dropped the transfer case? Also, did you remove the transfer shifter knob because I noticed the shaft lowered with the transfer case? Thank You!
@IAMASPANNER4 жыл бұрын
As per the video it’s just dropped down and nothing else is disconnected. I’m sure there are guides that show more being removed but if you have good access, tools, and can see the area well enough this is all you need to do.

Great video bud. I've got the same problem when going from 2wd to 4wd all the steering lights come on and centre diff light flashes. I've ordered new set of sensors but I've seen in the comments that you mention lubricating before putting the sensors back in. What would you recommend. WD or grease ? Cheers
@IAMASPANNER2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jordan, if I recall correctly there are ball bearings that move close to the sensors when the setting is changed, too much thick grease could also cause them to stick but it will last longer than WD. I think they stick up rather than down so if you take a look using a mirror after removing the sensor and possibly poke them down you should be able to see the problem and lubricate the right one.

Hi got the same issue but not from the start , only when engine is warm ? could it be low on oil ?
@IAMASPANNER4 жыл бұрын
If it’s the same as this car the problem is actually some little ball bearings at the top that hit these switches. They don’t get any lubrication being at the top of the box so it’s likely the same issue for most people and not actually the switches.
@vm55424 жыл бұрын
@@IAMASPANNERok thanks I ll replace switches then
@IAMASPANNER4 жыл бұрын
@@vm5542 when you remove them try to get some lubrication in there to help prevent the ball bearings from sticking again.

Can you tell me the name of the socket and where I can get one

Hi Chris, Not sure of the exact name but try searching “oxygen sensor wrench” this is one from screwfix: www.screwfix.com/p/hilka-pro-craft-oxygen-sensor-wrench/2369R?tc=AA3&ds_kid=92700046638549236&ds_rl=1243318&ds_rl=1241687&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1245250&gclid=Cj0KCQiAmfmABhCHARIsACwPRAD6kHFk3PbOIWEr-7eguQlyig7wTuRgZTKZtM-KuDmnb54rkH-4tDUaAmtlEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds I’m not sure what size it is but the one in the video is part of a kit. Hope this helps.

Just bought pajero io 1.8l petrol engine and have same problem should i do same thing?
@IAMASPANNER4 жыл бұрын
It’s actually not the switches that cause the issue it’s the little ball bearings the switch used to read at the top of the gearbox getting stuck so you could take the switches out and try lubricating them

Just done my 5 and no washer were on old switches and none with the new ones do they need to be there
@IAMASPANNER2 жыл бұрын
If it’s working I wouldn’t worry about it, looks like they may have been out before if they’re missing. It actually may be the ball bearings getting stuck that causes the issues rather than the sensors themselves.

Great video bud . Loved it 😊 also any Idea to why at times there is loss of power when I switch my headlights on and gets to normal when I fiddle with the transfer case which makes the dashboard 4x4 lights blink. Then instantly when it is in diff lock my power is back again.. what is going on 🤣🤣 is my car haunted lol

Sounds like a bad alternator. You should be at 13+v when running, also check ur battery when not running for signs of not charging properly
