I did this once for fun. I maxed out smithing , enchanting and potion making. I made potions that buff potion , enchanting and smithing. Made armors that enhance potion making , enchanting and smithing. Then all of them combined made a legendary wooden sword with an enchantment of the faster attack swings.

It can be forgiven, soul gems become kinda useless after you get the Black Star. I always make sure to download a mod to make it so a soul only goes into the smallest gem it can (none of that crap where a petty soul fills a grand gem), but that’s about it.

Not sure how well known this is, I came across it years ago when Skyrim first came out. If you fast travel whilst casting the telekinesis spell and wearing equipment that gives you zero magika drain, then your alteration skill automatically rises based on the time taken to fast travel from paint A to B, which almost always puts it to 100. Legendary the perk for unlimited perk point.

Now since you have unlimited telekinis, while your levitating whatever item you choose to, open the menu and select a far away place to fast travel to. By the time you spawn to wherever you chose your alteration will be on 100

When you do the fortify restoration trick, you have to also make fortify enchanting potions, and then use those to enchant your gear to the absurd levels. They'll stay permanently overpowered that way.

@@Scanlaid nah - putting on gear with the restoration potion effect on boosts AL buffs, basically, which is why this glitch works - even perks are weak to it. on the other side, making an enchant potion, just like a blacksmithing boosted enchant, will make any items while under it's effects 'normally'. no real trickery there, just, not supposed to be able to get such large numbers.

@@Altair1243WAR pretty much. but still, something like 40k% better stuff is still utterly game breaking without, you know, actually breaking the game on you. hell, 4k% even. the game tends to be balanced around maybe double your stuff -litle less than double health, magicka, stamina doesn't matter as much, double ish wh, 2h, bows, free magic though it takes up most armor slots to become a 'master' mage, little bit better enchanting, potions, blacksmithing.

The reason the Fortify Restoration glitch didnt work as well as you anticipated is because you gotta make a fortify enchanting, and enchant new alchemy gear. That sort of anchors your progress and from there you can kickstart the process in the future. Also, you missed an absolute powerhouse of a rapid leveling exploit. Remember that necklace you made that makes alteration spells cost nothing? Instead of just holding an object and leveling that way, instead... hold the object. Then open the fast travel menu and go across the whole map... The game counts it as if you walked the whole distance while holding the object with telekinesis... if memory serves me right, Whiterun to Riften is enough to go from freshly reset to a full 100 in Alteration. Rinse and repeat and you can get to a few hundred levels in a few hours, easy.

When doing the alchemy loop make sure to quick save and wait after equipping the gear. The gear retains the power it has when equipped until removed. Then the waiting prevents the issue of potion effects stacking and timing out removing all active effects.

I will admit I don't even know if the quick save thing works, but I will say the best way to take advantage of it is while you're under the effects of the ridiculous potions and your gear increases your potion power by 1000000% or whatever (not TOO high lest you crash the game). During this window you create a fortify enchanting potion or 5 if you can. Drink said potion of fortify enchanting and immediately enchanted whatever item you like with the fortify alchemy and bam you have a price of gear that permanently increases the potency of potions by a stupid amount and you never have to do the loop again

I remember I used a Skyrim mod that allowed me to upgrade any weapons with the grindstone. I thought I would only be able to upgrade low damage items by a little bit. But then I did the smithing quest that glitches how much you can upgrade weapons. It came to the point that I had a wooden sword that did 7845564 damage

You should do a challenge as a fisherman in Skyrim. You can only do damage with a fishing pole only wear fisherman’s garb (I know there is at least a hat) and heal off of fish and mud crab meat.

Tips i discovered in skyrim while goofing off take a bow. enchant with "if target dies within x amount of seconds, fills a soul gem" and set it to 1 second for maximum charges. no matter how long you fight you'll always fill a soul gem with a kill. still smith a shit load of iron daggers (very poor nowadays but it helps later) take those 2k iron daggers and enchant them all with the filled soul gems you got along the way. enchant all those daggers. craft clothes that allow 25% reduced cast cost for what you want to cast. Cast master level spells at no cost and without needing to level up that spell tree.

In my first or second playthrough of vanilla Skyrim I made a game-breaking armor set using the enchanting exploit. I could one shot dragons by punching them. I whirlwind sprinted off the Throat of the World and lived (300k health, the fall did between 100k an 150k).

I hate these reddit-tier 'aha, gotcha' moments. No, a wooden sword is not a weapon, hence it's a wooden sword and not a club, or some other sort of designed weapon. No, a plank and a cricket bat is not a weapon either inherently, otherwise you could say moronic shit like a fistful of fire ants, paper sheets, and water are weapons. Oh, I see your mistake with the potions, you forgot the enchantment potion. The restoration loop gets you pretty far, but an enchantment potion seals your deeds with an iron grip.

the enchantment effect counts as what it says when you put it on. so even after it wears off it still has the ridiculously hight stats until you unequip it
