how would you could compare the Christenson ocean racer to the mitsven?

So the only Mitsven we've ridden is much larger than the Christenson Racer's we've ridden (from 4'10-5'6), so its a bit of an apples to oranges comparison due to them being vastly different sizes, but a few things really stood out: - * Christenson * = more "traditional" mini-simmons. Much flatter, and almost always ridden as short as possible. - * Mitsven *= has more rocker than you'd usually see in a mini-simmons. Due to the size of this one, the rocker in no way made this board feel slow or made it die in the flats; there's quite a bit of volume packed in here and a longer profile so it carried speed very well. The rocker did, however, seem to help loosen up the board/ make it easier to start engaging turns, despite its size. - * Both *: Very fast/ carries well in the flats or in mushy waves. Very slide-y, not carve-y/ pivot-y (or more like you can turn your body to pivot around quickly, and the back comes around quick and easy, but the back slides around instead of digging in as a pivot point). - * Overall * = I found the Ocean racer to be a great go-to board for most days. Despite most people liking it for mushier waves, I actually enjoyed it most in pitchier surf (if you can survive the death drop or get in early enough). The slidey- factor become super fun when you get some speed and pitch to the wave. This is probably the most "Skateboard-ey" surfboard I've ever ridden and I personally absolutely love it. The Mitsven was a tool for me on different days - I particularly liked it during swamped tides. I could catch the waves super early before they broke (due to the size of the board), and then still had the looseness to bring the board all the way around on top turns. One thing I really liked was the feeling of a board this big slideing around on a turn, something really special with that kind of floatey slide. I also found that while trying to carve a hard rail turn on these boards was next to impossible, the Mitsven rails were a little more user friendly, probably just because it was such a longer effective edge due to the length of the board. - * Who will like it * = People who want a different feeling than a normal surfboard. Someone who wants a skatey feeling, and likes the "slide". People who want something fun for mushier waves or want something different in their quiver for below average to slightly above average surf days - * Who won't like it * = People who like traditional performance surfing and nothing else / "performance pure-ists". If you're looking to do a hardcore pivot turn with a firm plant and snap, or to laydown a wicked rail carve, look elsewhere. This is all about slidey fun. Hope this helps, just my two cents. We rode the Mitsven maybe a dozen times and the ocean racers maybe 2 dozen times (three different sizes), so enough to get a good feel dialing them in, but not enough to feel like they're an extension of our body yet :).

Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I have had a Joe bauguess Simmons for a bit and would like to try something little different. if you find you have a mitsven and the ocean racer in the shop that I can demo it would be greatly appreciated. both shapes look good. I'm not a top to bottom surfer- @@thesurfersguild

Thanks @@user-tz2ee5hb4v ! Right now we've sold all the Ocean Racers and the Mitsven from this video, but we do get them in fairly regularly. We do have other mini-simmons in stock for rental and demo though (we have a section in our quiver devoted to them). Right now we have a 5'7 Ben McTavish Mini-simmons and a 5'2.5" varial foam Album Plasmic, as well as a Mandala Arctail Quad (5'4) and a Almond Secret Menu 5'4 (foamie). Thanks for checking us out!🤙
