In the Navy, we used to use the INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH Kool-Aid packets to clean things. It was heavy granular powder that we would just pour out onto the kitchen griddle, pour a little water on it, and start scrubbing. Within 5 minutes, the griddle looked brand new. I used it to clean fire hose connectors, fire nozzles, and deck drains. 1 packet in 3 gallons of water made the brass look as shiny as a brand new trumpet.

PLUS, you can use COKE to clean your battery terms,, Apply with some Q-tips
@Inventor7996 күн бұрын
Yes, you can use Coke to clean battery terminals. The acid in the Coke helps to break down corrosion, making it easier to clean the terminals. Here's how you can do it: 1. **Apply Coke to the terminals**: Pour a small amount of Coke onto the battery terminals or dip a Q-tip into the Coke. 2. **Let it sit for a few minutes**: Allow the Coke to sit on the terminals for a few minutes to help dissolve any corrosion. 3. **Scrub the terminals**: Use the Q-tip or a soft brush to scrub the terminals, removing any buildup. 4. **Wipe it clean**: Once the corrosion is gone, use a clean cloth or paper towel to wipe off the Coke and any remaining residue. Make sure to dry the terminals completely before reconnecting the battery to prevent any further damage.

Phosphoric Acid is in Colas as to why the burning was removed. I've seen My Father use Pepsi & Coca Cola to remove rust from his cars.
@Inventor79912 күн бұрын
You're right! Phosphoric acid, found in colas like Pepsi and Coca-Cola, is effective at removing rust. It's a mild acid that reacts with the iron oxide (rust) and breaks it down, which is why some people use cola as a rust remover for cars and other metal objects. It's a popular DIY method because the acid in the cola helps clean off the rust without damaging the metal underneath too much. However, for more stubborn rust or long-term solutions, stronger commercial rust removers may be more effective.

Aluminum pans can be cleaned in a self cleaning oven
@Inventor79921 күн бұрын
Yes, aluminum pans can be cleaned in a self-cleaning oven, but with caution. The high heat in these ovens can cause the aluminum to warp, discolor, or even melt, depending on the thickness of the pan. It's safer to use gentler cleaning methods, like baking soda and vinegar, to avoid damaging the pan.

My stepmom used to tell me that no knowledge is ever wasted. In our throw away, instant gratification society, I see this as a useful way to save much used pots and pans as well as saving money. We have a 1960’s/1970’s era stove that still works, but needs some cleaning and tlc. We might try this for cleaning the stovetop. I think I’d try Dawn dish soap, though. I swear by Dawn!

That's a great question! It seems like you were interested in how much was used for the cleaning process. In the video, the number of dishes wasn't specified, but typically, cleaning a pan like that could involve using one or two to demonstrate the effectiveness. If you're doing it at home, you'd only need the dirty pan and the items used for cleaning! Would you prefer to see more focused videos on using fewer tools?

Haha, genau! Ein bisschen weniger Aufwand und trotzdem das gleiche Ergebnis. Ako Pads oder Stahlwolle - manchmal sind die klassischen Lösungen die besten! 😂

Oh hell no. I won't be doing this to clean dirty kitchen utensils . If it takes 4 hours to make the cleaner, I'll just give the pot to the Salvation Army, and learn how to cook.....

You're absolutely right! Coke has acidity that works well for cleaning tarnished metal, just like some of those other methods. Sometimes it's the simplest solutions that work best!

It's stainless steel.thats why I always use all stainless.no non stick.but for real ,it's much easier to just use ahandheld 4inch grinder or orbital sander or a flap disk on a bigger shop grinder.use scotch bright pads .if you can't find specific attachments .use Velcro peel off sticky on one side.put onto scotch bright pad from grocery store,and the other Velcro attach to sander or grinder wheel.the work is reduced by 10 fold.also the cost is really zero since the scotch bright pads seam to never run out or go bad.just rinse.also there's no 2 hr. Wait time.a little joy liquid drops along the way is helpful some.but not necessary..

That’s a fantastic tip! Using a grinder or sander with Scotch Brite pads really speeds up the process and saves time. I love the creative solution with Velcro, too-clever way to make it more efficient and cost-effective! Thanks for sharing this method, I’m sure it’ll be really helpful for others. 😊

As cool as this method is, it's a bigger time saver to sand it. I did that with my Copperware pan. To say it restored the pan would be an overstatement, it exposed some of the natural copper and steel in the pan, but it was still satisfactory, and took 20 minutes. Start with course grit, and progressively upgrade to finer grits to smooth it out. It's straightforward and simple, and don't believe the delusions, it's not going to hurt the pan. Same with stainless steel. There's no need to overcomplicate a solution that is actually simple.
@Inventor79921 күн бұрын
You're absolutely right! Sanding is a much faster and straightforward method to restore cookware. It helps reveal the natural metal underneath and can give the pan a fresh look without the need for complex methods. Gradually progressing through different grit levels for a smooth finish is a solid approach. Thanks for sharing your experience! Sometimes, the simplest solutions work the best.
@trygle007321 күн бұрын
@Inventor799 This is certainly a first. The channel owner, actually replying to my comment. I'm honored. But do you think you might be able to demonstrate this? If you have a Copperware, with a bunch of burnt on stuff, that won't otherwise come off? Remember: Start coarse, like 220. Upgrade to finer grits, once the worst of it is gone. 500 will do. Finely, the smoothing. 1,000 is satisfactory, 1,200 will do better if you have it. After that, as long as it's washed clean afterwards, then that's that. You can't even tell it was sanded, unless you looked at it under certain kinds of light.
