anolog signal from vga cant be converted to digital signal which hdmi operates on. if you do this you may cut your vga and hdmi cable for nothing!

Ha! That is the sloppiest, ugliest splice work I've ever seen. It might be forgiven if the cable actually worked but it won't. VGA is an analog signal and HDMI is digital so a converter is needed. Thanfully I fast forwarded so I only wasted about 22 seconds of my time.
