I never knew it was so easy to do (I missed the option), I've always created my own from audio files, but this is so much easier. You can also only render a bar and just drag the bar the way you normally duplicate it so it takes up less audio space. Thank you!

Great video yet again, Chris. Thank you. One thing regarding exporting the click-track. It's obvious but the click-track has to be ON or else it will render silence. Also, the volume of your click does affect how loud the rendered click-track is.

In cubase pro is there a way to select the duration between any two markers without manually setting the locators? In pro tools there is a key command I use constantly across the entire process of production/editing/mixing that is (period marker number period shift period marker number period) so for example typing .5. shift .7. would select the duration between my fifth and seventh markers. Once the markers are set using just one number without the shift modifier is a fast way to accurately locate around the session, and using two numbers with the shift modifier makes it really practical and fast to loop playback and make edits across blocks of the arrangement without needing to make sure the selection is accurate every time, or even having to see the whole section if you are zoomed in/out working on something. Not sure I understand fully but if you select 2 markers and click on "P" that will set the Left/Right locators between those 2 markers. you can also use the Range selection tool and select a range, click on "P" and that will do the same... Hope that helps

If I am not using a real drummer I often use Steven Slate Drums. I set up the outputs for the plugin to giver me mono outputs for the kick and snare and stereo outputs for the H Hat, Toms, Cymbals, OH, and Room. Those outputs show up in the mixer in Cubase 10 but they don't show up in the project window where I can re-arrange the order. My Mixer and project are sync'd. Is there a way to get the channels to show in the project window or do I have to separate the individual midi hits into tracks?

Hello Chris. Maybe I'm just lazy, but I'm wondering the following ... Is there a quick and easy way to transfer entire "old" sample CDs with Cubase to your hard drive and make them available in the MediaBay? When you import a CD via import audio, an audio track often has several samples. I can then cut out the silences (detect silence) and put the different samples as separate tracks and save them as wav files. Is there an option in Cubase to do this faster? Instead of one by one ...

You could after slicing the audio events, put all those events on separate tracks, name the tracks accordingly to the sample, slect all those Events and use the "Bounce Selection" option. Then you will find those new files in the Project's Audio Folder. Sort them by date, easier to find them. Hope that helps

Thanks Chris, very helpful video. However, speaking of click tracks. I program keyboard sequences for my band to play to, I put and hard pan all of the instruments to the right side and the click hard panned to the left, then export stereo, but when I play back the stereo file I still hear some of the click track coming through the right side of the PA system even though the right channel of the stereo output is in a separate hard panned right channel on the mixing board and the left channel is hard panned to the left channel. What is the best method to export a stereo file that will have complete separation from what is on the left and right channels? I give the drummer the left signal to his headphones to help him stay in time of the sequence while playing to a click. Do not want the audience hearing the click track. Any Info on this will be extremely appreciated as well as all of your videos. Thanks

If you pan all your music to the left and the click to the right, by exporting in Stereo, you should have them separated. You have to check the plugins on your Stereo Buss though. Some Stereo plugins can compromise that separation.

Thank you for this......I've been wanting to do this in Cubase forever. I learned how to do it in PT, but I mix and edit in Cubase. One question I have regarding clicks is a big one. When creating a session and importing the audio, if there was no BPM specified I need to figure out the tempo by ear. Here's my problem.....since the metronome defaults to 120 I have to start moving it up or down to find the tempo(unless it happens to be 120)....what happens then is the audio gets all shifted around out of sync. I know this is a real simple thing but I've never been able to figure out how avoid this problem. the one way I've figured out how to get around it is this...…….. I listen to the audio then tap out a tempo that's really close. Then I delete the audio, and re-import it. I'm sure that's NOT the correct method.

Hi Chris Selim! I need help with this problem. I have the Sequencer Arturia Keystep synchronized with Cubase Pro 10.5 in USB mode, but I there is some delay on midi clock sync that I can not find the way of fix it, and when I trigger the metronome is when I realize that the delay really exists!! In a search I did I found a person with the same problem on Ableton Live and solved it in Preferences - Midi and there is an option that you can delay or advance the Midi Clock Sync. I looked for a similar function in Cubase Pro but I can't find it... Thank you for all your attention Chris.

Hi Chris! I have a MacPro early 2009. I was wondering what platform you favor, OSX or Windows. I have always used OSX, and I am thinking of a "backup" just in case my current Machine goes down. The problem is a new MacPro base model is 6k which I find ridiculous. I could build a great PC for half that with more memory. I figure it is going to be a headache one way or the other. Just interested for your opinion?

Worked on both and they're both good and both can be anoiying.It's a personnal at this point. You will be well served on both. If you like MacOS and don't want to invest in an expesive MacPro, there's always the Hackintosh route you can take. Compliacated to install a bit but works well when done right. I've never rendered the click either. I didn't feel like using up a track. Not that it really mattered though. Since it's just me in my home studio I generally just have the click running on it's own and of course I can hit the metronome button to turn it on or off as I see fit. Sometimes if I'm doing a difficult part I might change it up to an 8/8 time as opposed to a 4/4 just so I play tighter. I don;t like to quantize my playing. Old fashioned! Thanks for another great video! Quick question here. I seem to have a lot of problems getting my Waves plugins to work. For example. My Sheps Omni channel is blacklisted. Any ideas on how to fix this? All help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again!

You can get triplet grid on the project window by setting the Grid to "Use Quantize" then set triplets in the Quantize and "Snap to Grid" on. For in the Sample Editor, I don't see a way right now.

The way I did it is not available in Elements. You will need to manually write the click with Groove Agent SE or other VSTi and export it in audio back in your session.
