MY solution the shitty sound. After a lot of trial and error. It's all about running signal hot enough ! This is my routine 👇 Use your soundcard first! Make sure u don't clip. Put a VU meter on your channel. Set the VU to a prefered headroom (-16 to -12 Db). Use gain knob on your channel and hit the strings on bass/guitar. Gain up until the th VU meter hits +/-0. THERE! Now u have a good signal. Load amplitube on the channel. Choose prefered amp. Load a 2nd VU after amplitube on a 3rd slot. Same settings as the first vu. And check u still hit +/-0 . You should have somewhere around the same value on your track meter as the swing on the first vu when hitting strings the hardest ( not by any means). IF not, boost signal on amplitubes OUTPUT SIGNAL, bottom right corner. I came up with this some time ago and it made my recordings cleaner. Less floor noise and more consistant. Please, comment or ask if necessary😊 👌🤘

I just found your channel Chris, and gald I did. This is an excellent comprehensive explanation of the new features. I say that because you managed to explaing things clearly, making it easy to absorb, but quickly too and covering the big array of new things. Just upgraded to 14 Elements due to the cheap price, and you have enticed me to try using Cubase again after years of swearing by and loving Reason, which I have up to 13 now. Great job and thanks.

I've used YouLean for ages and liked it so much I paid for the Pro version when it was on offer. One of the great features of Pro is the drag and drop feature for file analysis. Lifetime free updates too. :-)

I've recently started using the FREE ISOL8 by TPProAudio (lasted updated 06/11/24 so it's current). It's "an advanced mix monitoring tool. It divides the frequency range into 5 bands. These 5 bands can be soloed or muted individually. This will help you to concentrate on certain frequency ranges during the mixing and mastering process.". I guess this would work well with this technique and it has other features like Mid/Side/Left/Right/Stereo features that are useful too. Thanks again Chris for explaining things like you do. :-)

I've been a subscriber for a while and have always appreciated your approach to explaining concepts. As a Cubase user it's an added bonus to watch your videos. Your videos are like a library of knowledge that budding musicians and engineers can tap into. Channels like yours are what the Internet is all about. Sharing knowledge, enthusiastically. Thanks Chris. :-)

Great video Chris, Ive read that used as parallel or not fully 100% wet creates phasing issues, not sure if they fix it on newest versions already, but it is the plug in of the year

I got an email from Focusrite saying that they’ve teamed with NI to give away Ozone 11 Elements free. Offer good until January 6, 2025. I’ve been using Drawmer S73 (also came free) for the past few years. Should be interesting. Cheers.

Most headphone designers use the Harmon curve when developing their headphones to tune them as close as possible to that curve. So what you really want is a good headphone that closely matches the harmon curve. To my ears, the best matching headphones are ones like the Hifiman Susvara, Audezee CRBN2 electro stat, Raal Acoustic Magnus, and if you want the ultimate headphone experience currently available on planet Earth, get the Hifiman Shangri La Sr.

Hi Chris. In my case, the wave forms are there but for some reason when I click on the waveform, I do not get the option to adjust the gain/size of the audio/waveform .. What is happening? . I need to be able to adjust the gain/size of the waveform so I can do my volume balancing before mixing. Help Cubase 14 pro
