It's really amazing to see how excited and and supportive cubase community is. There are many daws out there and Ableton live and others are even more popular than cubase. But the excitement and love alot of producers have for cubase is just on another level it seems (including me). I think the reason is that we discovered cubase as our last option and it's so good that we started to like it so much haha!

Great video Chris! Steinberg should pay you a solid commission for the extra sales that will come from such a professionally clear & well explained demonstration of their new features. That audio to Chords track is fantastic and would have saved me valuable time recently when collaborating. I'd never written down the chords to a song I wrote a while back so had to actually play my guitar again to remember them and write down with the timing but now it would take no time at all to get the chords to the collaborator, besides the main intended benefits of having those chords entered for MIDI. I usually wait for bugs to be ironed out but I want this upgrade now from 11 pro for this and other features!

I am glad that you are so wildly positive about Cubase Pro 12 but the reality is different. yet again they have rushed out a new version that is full of bugs and incomplete features, yet again there is no tech support, yet again they refer users to the Cubase forum but yet again NO Cubase staff are there to help and long term members say that Steinberg staff are hardly ever in there. It feels to me that they have rush released a beta version instead of taking the time to get in right once and for all. The MIDI Remote IS a GREAT idea but it has been implimented in a half ass way and does not go deep enough, thats if it works at all. I have THREE midi controllers, a Arturia MiniLab Mk II, a SSL UF8 and a Korg nanoKontrol Studio. NONE of them are supported in MIDI Remote, whats that all about? The UF8 is arguablly the top level controller for DAWS and yet Cubase Pro 12 does not support it? Its a total joke. They should do it right or not do it at all.

Hi Chris, just to say I enjoy your KZbin channel tremendously. I also have just updated to Cubase 12 Pro and it's fantastic. I was wondering if you would do a short video on the Korg Kontrol 2. It would be great if you could start from the beginning, like say, from firing the Kontrol 2 up. Do I hold down the two buttons for Cubase before I plug it into my computer? Then there are the Korg Kontroll Editor setup, what is the procedure before firing up Cubase 12 Pro? I did have it set up in Cubase 11 Pro and it worked fine when loading up Kontakt 6.7.0. The Korg Kontrol 2 seems to have thrown a wobbly and is all out of wack. I have tried several times to change the CC settings within Cubase, and I also changed them in the Korg Kontrol Editor. Oh please help Chris, my brain is getting a little too old for it. lol.

@JimAlfredson2 жыл бұрын
Phase coherent audio warp is great but why require a button press to do it? Why not make that the default? I can't imagine a situation where you wouldn't want your warps to be phase coherent if you're editing multiple tracks at the same time. Also, the audio to MIDI is neat but how accurate is it? The guitar chords sounded a bit more complex than what it detected. The C chord, for example, sounded like a Cadd9 to me, not just a regular C triad.
@mixdownonline2 жыл бұрын
You only need phase coherency if you're editing a multi-mic instruments, like live drums or a guitar amp with 2 mics. You don't need phase coherent it your editing a bass + single mic guitar recording + a vocal to fix a timing issue for example :-)
@mixdownonline2 жыл бұрын
Audio to Midi works great for what it is, there's always room for more precision, but if you can hear a Cadd9 and not a regular C chord, I don't think you need that tool :-)

I’m using a drum map for a drum software instrument that doesn’t conform to GM. When I play or load MIDI files into the arrange window everything works as it should, transposing the right amounts on playback to achieve the MIDI note assignments that I’m used to. However when I play MIDI files from the Media Bay through the drum software instrument channel, the drum map is ignored and I can’t hear the beats because the drum module does not transpose the MIDI files to the desired target register. Any ideas how to get around this? What I want is for the drum map to recognize the MIDI notes coming from the Media Bay and transpose them in real time to the register of my drum module. If that’s impossible is there another way to achieve the transposition?

Hi. For some reason a whole bunch of my VSTI's (Battery, Keyscape, Trillian etc) have unnecessary gray areas around the usual instrument display. "Allow Window To Be Resized" is selected, never had this issue with 10.5 or 11. its really Peeing me off as it taking too much screen space. I'm usually able to have multiple windows open but the way it is at the moment I can barely have 2. If I press "VST quick controls" on and off, it gets rid of the unwanted areas but once u close it and re-open it, it goes back to the old screen so I have to repeat the same process of switching "VST Quick Controls" on and off again. I'm sick of doing this for each instrument, is there a setting where I can get rid of this?

For example. I selected all tracks I want to bounce. They are going through full path But I can see the dialog saying kick drum but every track in mixer is lighting up as if the full mix is playing. Why is this? It is in fact printing separates but taking 4mins per bounce. Am I missing something? I’m on 2019 Mac Pro tower 16 core 96 gigs of ram. A lot of plugs in session nothing on master bus.
