The truth is the competition level in the 4x400 mixed relay is very low, and the competition in the 4x400 relays (women's) isn't much better with the exception of the USA. I think Femke gets way too much praise for outshining lessor competition in relay races while consistently coming in second and third in her main event. Femke may never beat Anna Cockrell again if you were to be honest.

I threw her in as an after thought but since Femke is really the biggest loser in track, you dudes will highlight anything to give her a win. And I said "may not" - meaning it's a possibility. No need to apologize, and that was not a major race. Let's see what happens in the World Athletic Championships next year when Femke will be focused on second place because she is only the Queen of the B League (Diamond League). And she is lucky they won't let Sydney run that final because she would get embarrassed again.

It's actually one of the least popular races in the Olympics. It doesn't feature any of the best 400m runners at all. But I'm not mad at the Netherlands for putting Femke in this race because it was their only realistic shot at a Gold Medal 🥇but she is running against lessor competition.

Best race in the Olympic, bullshit it was the 400 meter hurdles where Sydney wiped the track with Bol crying at the end. Wasn't the 400 meter hurdles Bol main event and she was taken to the cleaners!! All her fans saying she was tired with all the relay run, well let me tell you that if the Americans had Sydney as the anchor Bol would have been crying again. The three women who were stars in track and field were Gabby Thomas, Sydney levrone and tHassan who won the marathon after getting bronze in 5000 and 10000 meters. Bol was not even close to these three ladies.

I suspect the Dutch had realized at an early stage that if they wanted to go for gold at the Olympics, their best chance in the mixed 4x400 m. Sidney McLauchlan was not likely to participate in the mixed relay, and in that case Femke Bol could make the difference. In fact, at the qualifications for the Olympics in early May, they did not include Femke in the women’s relay, and the Dutch women’s team needed the second round to qualify. The Dutch put their cards on the mixed relay instead, with Femke Bol in the anchor leg. In Paris, Sidney was just too strong in the 400 m Hurdles, so Femke could have caught silver at best. Femke took the risk to participate in the mixed relay too, and people argue that may be the reason that she had to settle for bronze in the 400 m Hurdles rather than silver. But should she really care? By participating in the mixed relay, Femke is a gold medalist now, and so are her team mates!
