You are so right about how important the little things are. If you remember the really bad Tornado that struck Cookeville Tn. not very long ago. I live about 15 to 20 mins. from where it was the worst & my parents were only 1 or 2 mins away. It was very scary. But a lot of kindness & love came after. And not just from the people in Tn. It came from all over the world & the United States. I was reminded of how much good is really here in this world. I had to point it out to my daughter. She had seemed to be losing a little faith in the kindness of people. You usually only hear news on all the bad that happens. It's sad that it some times takes a tragedy to show how many kind & loving people there are out there. My daughter seemed to be encouraged by all the volunteering & help sooo many people were contributing. The town even had to ask people to stop sending things, due to running out of room to store everything. Not just people but large corporations from all over the world were donating, money & supplies. It was truly amazing, & wonderful. I still keep all the affected families in my prayers. It was a very terrible tragedy. But mankind came threw. And a big Thank You to all. Love the new color pallet. Painting is beautiful TYFS

This is another lovely project, those colors are really beautiful. If you use your charcoal pens, or I use sometimes soft pastels and spray a thin layer fixative on it, could I use Mod Podge over the whole painting? Thanks again Shawn for your inspirational artwork :)

I would spray a couple of layers of fixative. I would be worried that modge podge might be too thick. You want a thin medium to cover. Because youll want to go invon direction. Not back and forth when covering. So you dont smear.

I use super cheap tissue..usually from the dollars store. Its all about the medium. Lots of fluid matte medium.

This is beautiful. I love what you did here, and finally would like to attempt making it work for me. I've done a few of your online offerings, and was never disappointed. But I have to say, that the word 'grungy' just bothers me when you say that. Grungy is something you see in a roadside gutter or sewer. It reaks of words that were once used to explain a type of Music years ago... Grunge music. Okay, it's had its day. Sort of like the song Frogbass. Cool song, but oh boy...there is something almost evil to it. So my lovely Shawn... Grunge is what I see in my compost pile...but certainly not what I see in my Garden. Maybe weathered, aged? OR let's just make up a NEW Word entirely...? LOL grunge [ɡrənj] NOUN informal grime; dirt. synonyms: grime · dust · soot · smut · muck · mud · filth · mire · sludge · slime · ooze · dross · scum · pollution · waste · smudges · stains · crud · yuck · grot · gunge a style of rock music characterized by a raucous guitar sound and lazy vocal delivery. the fashion associated with grunge rock, including loose, layered clothing and ripped jeans. What is the grunge life style? Heck, I lived in Seattle...so I saw the lifestyle. The grunge lifestyle is about individuality. It is filled with people who want to be known for their words and work instead of adhering to what is expected of them. Through their style, they express this philosophy. They avoid spending too much time on grooming and favor looks that break the molds of society. I suppose I'm going to Challenge you on this - to come up with another way to Express what you are doing here?
