Really pretty. I accidentally cut down a knee high pink magnolia my dad got my mom before he passed away. I replaced it and it's about 30 years old now, but it gave her a great story to tease me about. This looks great with all the layers and textures. Thanks so much.

I have some old canvases with a photo print that is not my liking. Do you know if I can use liquitex ( or qor?? ) watercolor ground on that by any chance? Multiple layers ofcourse. Does that sort of canvas need another prep first?

Just clean the canvas and you can paint watercolor ground in top.

What kind of glue stick do you like? I’ve tried the scotch create, the elmers xtreme- but all the ones that seem to not wrinkle the paper seem to struggle to hold paper to paper even. You like bend the paper and whatever is glued to it pops right off.

Or... maybe I was sick the day we learned glue sticks in 1st grade 😂

Most glue sticks are junk. I like the Avery permanent or scotch permanent glue sticks. The scotch ones seems to not dry out as easy.

Hullo Lindsay! You create the most wonderful mixed media artworks! I had to back off of the found objects projects when after 20 years I had a customer complain about art they had purchased from me. I had not seen them in years but we met up at a funeral and they were very unhappy about my “painting” it had come apart and portions just fell off the wall. I did ask them why they did not bring it back so I could fix it? They said it was years old and they felt it was to late. Now I might have been able to fix it but the cardboard that I used was what separated, now I thought I had sealed the picture well but it turned out nope! All they had were hard feelings and no artwork and oh plenty of blame for me! I know that archival techniques are not so important to many people who just create for themselves but if you ever giveaway or sell your art be sure it is put together well and as permanent as you can make it! Yeah warnings are quickly forgotten and some people will blame you for mold when it was their swamp cooler that introduced it to begin with! Ahhhh sorry I guess something pulled that string out of me and I blurted all over this comment. Please take care, be safe and enjoy your weekend!

That's a bummer. The surface I used was acid free matboard (for pictures framing) and the scrapbook paper I used was acid free too so I'm not worried about anything I used here.
@PursuingHeaven2 жыл бұрын
Eventually I want to migrate to journaling from coloring books that I do now and videos like this really help. One of the things that has stopped me is that everyone uses matte media and that is really expensive. What glue do you recommend and does this replace the need for matte media?

Hi Lindsay. I’ve been watching you for about 2yrs now and you are the person that started me art journaling. Thank you. 😊I’m reaching out to you because you know so many art supply places so I thought you could help me. I’m trying to find Jane Davenport’s older face stencils and a stamp set called free spirit. I’m very hesitant about ordering overseas right now because of everything that’s going on with Ukraine. I thought maybe you might be able to direct me somewhere that may have them. I would be willing to buy them used if they were in good shape. Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated Lindsay. Thanks.

I ordered all of Janes layer cake paint sets and a few other things from her but I didn’t order the stencils because I ordered from a site here and the day after I placed my order from Janes site the company I ordered the stencils from refunded my money because they said they couldn’t find them in their warehouse. I’ll just keep looking maybe they will pop up on eBay or Mercari. Thanks for your feedback Lindsay.
