Just tried this... omg this is wayyyyyyy more simple than the Oculus Mixed Reality tool using my PC! And the quality really isn't bad! The calibration is also so easy, that this is so far the best way I've seen to capture mixed reality on Oculus for when I play it with my friends. A hundred thumbs up!!!!!!

I wish I could set it to use the front camera. Even if it meant losin visual quality. I don't have room to get behind to the screen to do stuff like starting recording, moving the blue dot etc once it is in position.

Did you have to do anything to adjust your angle for the viewer? The oculus app has mixed reality but it’s only pointing straight forward so angling the camera makes it look not in sync

Just a heads up, you do need to be in your playspace when doing the calibration! If you step out of your playspace it will pause the game and interrupt it.

That is normal it means everything is calibrated and you can just launch your game

Great video Tetiana! That is some clever programming from that developer. Sadly (not so sadly) I walked away from Apple years ago. I don't like their business practices and their walled gardens (I don't like Facebook for the same reason, but I already gave them my data years ago as a teen). So it looks like I'll be using OBS and my green screen, and I am OK with that. Great job!

you gave the most important information for setting up the oculus quest 2 that I have searched for. Me and my wife have been trying to setup the oculus quest 2 for the right camera angle for about 3 weeks or more now and you said to set up the iphone or ipad to not let it move. We kept having the camera angle switch on us before, and now it does not. Your video should be the number one video for oculus set up on KZbin.

The way to get it was kind of confusing/complicated. I literally copied the link she put in the description, emailed it to myself, logged into my gmail on my quest, and then opened the link on my quest. Then you proceed with download from the website, it makes you log into Facebook/oculus account, and then the app will show up on your quest to download :D hope that helped!

LIV can do the same. I'm steaming in MR for over a year now. But I use a PC and a really cheap alternative as greenscreen - a carpet which looks like short grass. 4x4m just 36€...... and it works. Today I recorded a Beat Sage map of the viral TikTok song "Sea Shanty".

I love this video, very informative, you covered a lot of the details people tend to gloss over, so thank you for that. I actually invested in an refurb Iphone XR to try this but sadly, so far I can't get it to work, oh well. Every time after I complete the calibration, and close the Mixed Reality app in my Quest and then go back to Reality Mixer to select "start capture" (i forget the exact terminology), it won't connect to my Quest, I get an error. Major bummer. Hopefully the app gets updated and things work better going forward.
