I personally find for dry rock tanks, that doing no water changes for the first severals and months and dosing silicates around twice a week seems to help it to stabilize. A harem of possum wrasse would be awesome!

I agree, I have a convict tang (small) in my nano tank he will go to the new display tank in the future

Good way to keep an eye on them when they are small, and easier to upgrade once known as a specific algae destroyer in your system! -Blaine

A little zoa garden in the bottom right of the tank would look really good btw in the empty corner near the area that the arch bends down to

Great idea with the little encrusting rocks for each coral definitely do notttt put them on the main piece and man a bunch of sps op top with a great flowy middle zone that has lots of great branching montis and gonis ..some gorgonians could go up a bit to create movement around the sps crown 👑 on the heights of the rockwork

You have the Mind Melt Monti listed for $799, which is nuts for a montipora since they grow like weeds. Does this one just grow super slow?

The only capping Montipora with three colors truly grafted into it, it's an amazing piece and a work of art by our farm to bring to the hobby! Not just something naturally occurring we had to make it over the course of years. -Blaine

The algae will come back. Astrea snails - many, many astrea snails is the biological answer. I have cleaned, treated and been algae free only see it back weeks later. Falling back to nature to control the issue is the only long-term solution and frankly, probably best for the ecosystem. As Than at Tidal Gardens has stated, "Never use employee time to do a snail's job." Excited for this tank, however. RedSea makes incredible systems.

Meant to mentioning we beefed up the clean up crew in the video! We even added a couple extra turbo snails as well! Astrea snails are amazing if only they could self right themselves! Thanks for tuning in! -Blaine

Not true. Algae is there for certain reasons. Keep the water in check long term and algae can not survive. Nutrients high or unbalanced, rocks leaching, new tank, silicates, too much light….. The list goes on. You don’t see excessive algae in the ocean. It’s created by our mistakes.

Great video! I love your scape so much. The corals you added are some of my favorites. Were you concerned blowtorching the algae off also killed the beneficial bacteria and did or do you add bacteria to the tank. I hope if you get you pod population going you will add a pair of Mandarins. Thanks Blaine and Evan
