I’m sorry but as an Esthetician I have to point something out here. Dry skin as a type has small pores on most of the face (not including the nose). Dry skin is lacking the ability to produce sebaceous oil. Dehydrated skin is a condition where the skin is lacking in water. If you have a dry skin type and it’s healthy it won’t feel tight, it won’t be flaky or red or any of the side effects of dehydrated skin that you mentioned. Any skin type, whether you’re dry, combo or oily (not going to say normal as that doesn’t exist) can suffer from dehydrated skin. I just had to put this out there because both professionals and consumers really need to stop confusing dry skin type with dehydrated skin condition.
@pinkiepie68807 ай бұрын
Thank you! Great advice. I recently realized I had dry AND dehydrated skin (damaged skin barrier and wasn't drinking nearly enough water). I've had to simplify my skin care and I've been using a zinc based product similar to La Roche Posay's Cicaplast (Avene Cicalfate, though a nappy rash balm works the same so when I run out I'll be buying one). People need to know that, as you said, you can have any type of skin (combo, oily, dry, etc) whilist still having dehydrated skin. I usually have combo skin but lately it's been dry and dehydrated (flaky, red patches, feels tight after cleansing).

As a super dry sensitive skin gal… if too much time passes between my skincare and makeup, I spray with the Evian or Caudalíe water. It’s so dumb to pay this much for a can of dang water but it helps rehydrate between skincare layers and even makeup! And I haven’t tried the caudalíe elixir spray but I actually use the D’Alba serum spray (the yellow one) as a finishing spray! It makes my face feel hydrated & takes away any cake or dryness from powders & just gives a healthy skin look!

So, super dry skin...what were the top suggestions for the eye area specifically? I watched your whole video, and perhaps you are saying that all of them are, but I wanted to ask for clarification purposes. I got the impression that you were saying the Nars concealer more for the face concealing and the HUDA Beauty concealer for under the eyes. However I won’t be repurchasing the Ilia as even though is double duty with the sunscreen it seems so over priced and you need to mix a few to get a matching shade. The one I love is Missha BB cream and have used for years. The only issue is it does crease into lines and better to use a powder in this areas. It’s under $20! I am trying to select Clean products now so it gets more difficult.

My old college used to have a clinique counter in their bookstore, and one time I wanted to buy a foundation, but they were out of my shade, so the lady sold me on a different one which was mattifying. I was concerned since I have dry skin, but she said she has dry skin too and it doesn't make it drier, but I think she just said that to make a sale. I bought it 4 years ago and barely touched it, so I think it's time to get rid of it, especially since it's too light and make me looked like a ghost as well as dry
