U need a 4090 or a 4080 desktop or even a 4080/4090 laptop The 40 series Laptop and desktop both will run it very well at 4K also use autoFPS mod and have a great router u will get a great experience

Did you see the video? Seb was upfront about the performance of a mobile 3080 and I'm sure he knows what is required to run this smoothly as he owns a RTX 4090 in Germany.

I was leaning towards Big Screen Beyond. But was not looking foward to having to come up with a suitable solution for the display cable to the headset from the computer to the motion rig. I really wanted the OLED for night flying and details in the clouds. BUT... I also heard there is significant glare in the Big Screen Beyond. So, is there glare with the Apple Vision Pro? If not, this actually sounds like the better solution for me for what my criteria is.

A bit of an off-topic question to my VR-enthusiast friends. What is the difference of running VR wireless and with cable? I'm not too bothered by the cable and have never tried wireless VR. I have an HP Reverb G2 and can play HL: Alyx comfortably at 2600x2600 per eye at 90fps. Personally I would be more bothered by banding and codec artifacts. So really, if you prioritize image quality, is wired headsets the only way to go? :) and... is there a massive difference in clarity between pancake lenses compared to fresnel lenses? (I mean I consider the G2 to be very sharp now when I have an aftermarket gasket that puts my eyes closer to the lenses)

How can you tell visually, that you are streaming and not on a wired headset when using the Q3 and AVP? I can certainly not tell the difference when using the quest 3 as compared to the G2, which was a shocking revalation. I am on virtual desktop with a 4090. What codec and bitrate are you using?

The problem is a couple things, the AVP doesn't run in it's true native resolution due to Apple locking things down and also ALVR isn't quite as refined as Virtual Desktop. It looks good, but there's a noticeable quality difference between VD and ALVR.

Why? Seb is on a laptop using a mobile 3080 processor.. and is using MSFS in Medium settings. It's not worth digging any deeper, if you are serious about running MSFS using the AVP, then you will of course need an RTX4090, so if you are asking about setting, good luck!

That's nice but you're on Valve Time now. Maybe you'll get it next year, maybe you'll get it in a decade, maybe it will be 99% complete and they'll decide at the very last second: "Nah, we aren't releasing anything and we sure as hell aren't going to notify anyone looking forward to it either." Valve is the epitome of a double edged sword. Do yourself a favor and get what you can use today, then if/when they decide to allow us to know of their plans, you won't have wasted years waiting on them. Or you could hold your breath and keep believing Half Life 3 is coming lol.

I was hyped for trying out MS flight sim in VR, but it turns out I enjoy using Google Earth VR better. I like having full control of my movement through the environment in google earth. Plus MS flight sim is no where as accurate as Google Earth VR when it comes to the scan of the earth. Plus google earth vr is free, ms flight sim is expensive.

You really need to re-do this on your 4090!! and please don't use croma because it ruins the rest of the image and is difficult to understand if it's a problem with the experience or is just the video mixer doing those ugly artifacts.

I'm surprised how well this works considering there's like 6 sideloaded apps and drivers on top of the game and usual stuff involved. Hopefully Apple will change their policies so they can add proper foveated rendering too. I think that's the main thing holding back the visuals.

I think the Apple Vision Pro has been a damp squid of a launch when you monitor the social traffic on it. Apple will retire this device if developers don't start selling it for Apple. Similar problem with PSVR2. I genuinely think in the first 10 years since VR came back it feels like the wheels are starting to fall off the VR car, this is also evident in the lack of content VR KZbinrs are producing.

I wonder if compression now can be resolved using Vision Pro M2 chip, the problem of Quest 3 is not Wifi 6 or 6E or 7, the problems is decompression takes resources from XR2 chip, the chip cant keep up with the bandwidth of these WiFi signals, hence in reality we are not bottlenecked by WIFI but by processing power of the headset. So I hope virtual desktop can make use of M2 chip to reduce compression.

Good to know when you have the vision pro , however first a 4000€ price tag here in Europe. There's better stuff out there. Vive lowered the price of there pro2 full kit to 1000€ . For me the vision pro is just a expensive gimmick that people will be putting back on there shelves in 6 months.
