These have so much more impact to me than the 3D games. They all seem individually special and terrifying or curious, and the music is _amazing._ It just totally hypes you up. I don't know why the later games don't seem to have this. X and Y got it a little, but after that it just seems.. ineffectual. All the music in the games is too smooth, most if not all of it uses the same instruments and it gets super boring.

I was six when I first played my first Pokémon game, that being platinum. I’m seventeen now and have nothing but good memories for the game. Giratina had some of the most ambitious animation for its time imo. Though I remember looking at the opening loop for soul silver of lugia swimming and thinking it was revolutionary lol.
