My mom grew up in Grants Pass and we used to visit my Grandpa often. Seeing all the views of Crater Lake brought back all the memories of going there as a kid. I remember sliding down snow in august in my shorts and slippers (flip flops for you mainlanders), feeding the chipmunks and viewing the lake. I don’t remember ever going on the boat tour but I wanted to, my parents didn’t see the value in it though.

That region along the sierra mountain range is gorgeous country. From Yosemite in the south to crater lake in the north it’s amazing land.

Went there in April I got so lucky to catch a sunny day. The view with the lake surrounded in white is breathtaking. Highly recommend going when there’s still snow at least once!

That area is gorgeous. Looking at maps reveals hundreds of lakes in the area that most visitors never see.

We love road trips! So far we’ve been to Yellowstone, grand Tetons, Yosemite, Zion, Moab, Grand Canyon and now crater lake. Next one should be glacier national park. Our thought is we only have a dozen summers with our kids so we have to make them epic!
@828findadventure2 жыл бұрын
@@mixflip you are exactly right. We only have a few years left with the kids. Once they are out of high school/college they are gone. We live in Asheville, NC but have lived in Denver before our son was born. Got get the boy out to see some real mountains out west, and real snow at that. LOL

West coast gas prices are crazy, $3.52 in TX today. I love Oregon, great place to visit if you like being outdoors.
@HarryKuloh2 жыл бұрын
Wtf...i haven't seen $3.50 gas in probably 20 years
@mixflip2 жыл бұрын
Maybe the wider open spaces, mountains and less refineries push prices higher?
@darrylk8082 жыл бұрын
Wow, $5.09/gal. When did I think that would be good?🤣 You didn't stop in Klamath Falls? We stop there for the best Black Bear Diner. Nice little downtown area.
@mixflip2 жыл бұрын
We were on a tight 10 day schedule so not much time spent in Klamath falls other than to get gas.

Great video! Just a question, when did your actual trip take place? I just checked the NPS website and it says the Eastern Rim Drive is open.

2 weeks ago. Maybe they opened the east side after we left?
