Mixing Antifreeze--which color prevails? Beware coolant flushing scams.

Mixing 50% Mopar HOAT orange antifreeze with 50% Mopar conventional green. The antifreeze was flushed by the dealer. Although it called for orange Mopar HOAT antifreeze, it came back green. When we told the dealer they used the wrong antifreeze, they flushed it again, but it was still solid green. They claimed that the green dye used was stronger than the orange--and that even a little green in the system would overwhelm the orange color. We created this video to prove not only was that untrue, but just the opposite: the orange dye overpowers the green, and if they had flushed it at all, the dominant color would have been more orange but certainly not green. Useful information for all DIYers or anyone checking on their cars. Whether their equipment was broken or the tech clueless we don't know...but beware flushing scams!

I think both are fresh liquid and that's a reason of different result from your radiator, I also experienced with my car replace coolant (green) with antifreeze (pink)and the result was same as yours and dealer said The older coolant (green) is stocked on engine walls and green color is stronger than pink also usually we cheaper quality coolant and companies uses cheap die color for make green. So don't be worried about it.

Hello! Congrats for the video!! Im trying to find out what type of coolant is suitable for my Dodge Caliber. The Manuals mentions HOAT (specifically Mopar, but I live in Europe and cant find it). Can you please recommend some HOAT brands that I can find (relatively easy) and buy? Thank you very much!

Those idiots at jiffy lube like to mix universal green with dex cool. I would not advise anyone let that happen, even when they top up the overflow, the coolant will slowly begin to mix in with your dex cool and turn that brown/orange, and absolutely destroy any gasket 3 or 4 times as fast. My dad just flushed his dex cool and it looked like that in the video but dirty.. They were mixing universal in his overflow for a few years and he didn't know or say anything, now he needs a new rad, and I bet my bottom dollar his head gasket is fked.. The last thing I will say about coolant, change dex cool every 50k miles or 2 years, change the green every 100k or 3 years. IT does break down over time and will cause problems like put holes in rads, wreck heater cores and gaskets etc. People too often overlook this maintenance schedule.

So are you not able to mix the prestone green with the orange? Because on the bottle it says that it is compatable with any color.. But the internet is telling me different. I just mad the mix today by accident should I purge my coolant system and add only orange?

Dexcool is garbage and should’ve been drained and force fed to whatever gm moron decided to use it.

Pointless test asian hoat coolants are pink, red blue hoat, yellow hoat ford, green is orginal reg, dex cool orange oat. Then they have yellow universal all makes n models its yellow mixes with any except dex cool
