So I bought some vocal presets. Gives me a good sound off top something to work with, but l add more stuff to learn how to mix my voice n get the feel of it. In the preset, the bus side has 2 compressors on it and a linear EQ. Should l add 2 compressors how you did on the main vocal track chain still? Also, should l put the reverb, delay etc on one vocal Track, or bus each one?

You want to put all your time based effects (delay, reverb etc.) on bus tracks. You want to alter the dynamics of the output signal. If you put the time based effects on the vocal track you will alter the input and youre stuck with whatever you place on that vocal input. You want to keep the input vocals as raw as possible.

the vocals are not red, just the stereo out aka MASTER is red. you leave room for your VOCALS!!!

nice video my guy... I noticed you didn't use any sends. how many plugins do yo recommend on a track before using sends to save cpu processor. keep up the great work with these tutorials.

it really all depends if you need to use them or not for the type of song. I usually use the sends for a plugin that I have on a few different tracks or if I want some tracks to have a similar vibe to them.

This is pretty good but my guy you need to put delays on a send and return and pitch correction should be much earlier in your vocal chain, same with the space designer, should be on a send and return, it’s too powerful to be used directly on the channel, it just opens up a world of opportunities if you put these things on a send and return

Jordan Baywood you’re welcome, it’s just a suggestion bc when putting delays on a send and return you can put effects on only the delays without effecting the lead vocal so you can do telephone filtered delays and stuff like that, and with the pitch correction, it’ll still work but may not be as accurate if it’s correcting a vocal that’s already been compressed and EQ’d so put the pitch correction before most of the effects, these are just mistakes I made that you can learn from, but I also leaned some new stuff about Logic from this video so thank you!

you can throw a gain plugin at the top of your chain and then the level meter after it to keep your volume in check

You should take more time to explain why you are using the certain plugins, what effect it gives and what to listen for. You just go to the plugin and Ik u know how to do it so it’s like 2nd nature to you but for the ppl who don’t kn you should take the time to explain why you went to that plugin and why you are using this compressed verse this one and why you are using two reverbs etc.... i don’t mind watching a long video i just wanna kn Imma understand why u did what you do so it can help me when I’m editing
