Great video, thanks a lot!

Nice one! But why are you always using a snare main and a snare sample? Is the sample just played with a trigger instead of being miced?

Which vst drums were used?

Steven Slate. I have the exact same kick, snare and cymbals in version 4 Platinum.

This is just a Cubase commercial. Mendel does not just use all the stock cubase vst's.

Every stem.... scoop the mids, emphasise the bass and high end.

I don't understand why many technicians don't understand how a pultec works. Bandwidth only ever affects high frequencies. Low frequencies are only ever shelf. Heck, the ABCs of mixing.

Agreed. This guy has done similar not so educated things in previous videos. Kinda embarrassing, especially in an official steinberg video… 😅

Who cares. Ears and final sound result is only important !

@@Byron101_ This answer of yours makes no sense. You are free to move the knobs at random when you are in your bedroom, but if you pretend to make a video tutorial it is intellectually honest that you know what you are showing to your audience. Furthermore, the fact of not knowing one of the historical equalizers at the basis of the history of sound production means not being serious or competent in the profession you claim to teach others. Credibility suffers and it is therefore right to also question the rest of the notions shown.
