You hit right on the nail Jordan! Feeling is human nature. I had the chance to hear Manny Marroquin a few weeks ago on how he approaches a mix and he was talking about the same thing. He will listen and start bringing instruments and he will tap his foot or dance depending on the song. When he stops tapping his foot or stops dances that’s when he feels there is a problem he needs to address and he pretty much moves along until he doesn’t feel like there are anymore issues he needs to address.

Awesome video bro. I feel you on the importance of emphasizing the “feel” while mixing. People get way too technical when mixing and try to implement every single technique that they have learnt from KZbin videos. Unfortunately that is one of the downsides of all of the KZbin tutorials. Love your content, love your work.

The more tracks in a mix typically means more cuts in order to create space. But volume automation and side chaining should be just as important especially in a high track count project. Mostly because cutting too many frequencies can leave a mix sounding weak and less natural. You already knew that, but all of these things can make or break a track if the feeling is sucked out. Making the right decisions based on what feels good makes good sense whether you used basic mixing techniques with 3 plug -ins or.......well you get the picture.

Love your content but it would be super cool and educational if you went through a whole song through when the artist comes in all the way through the mix and master, id like to watch a series like that!! But keep it up!

Where did u get center and the filter plug-ins?? Do they come with pro tools? Or do you have to purchase them?
@willgaye5 жыл бұрын
Gr33n Team Ent. Hi if you haven't figured out your question ’Center’ is a Waves plugin and ’Pro Q’ is a Fabfilter plugin. You can google these and the appropriate plugins will pop up. Great time to get these plugins as they are significantly cheaper during the holiday season (USA). Hope this helps

Say bro do you have and consultations on how to get more business. Mixing here and there that people send me. But I want to do more hand on tracking vocals locally?

Focus on the song. You can suck the life out of a song over processing it. There is no substitute for great ears and a great song.
