I love Miyajima! Especially the roads less travelled. We found a path going up the hill behind all the buildings where there was no one. So beautiful. Great video and i hope that deer was okay omg!

I always find it amusing that the main roads are so packed with people but one street over and its completely empty 😂

I also like Miyajima very much. A few years back hiked to the top of mt Misen and then through the back to the Tsutsumigaura nature park (holiday park, really), which was weirdly empty even though it was June. Had a lovely little swim there with my friend and then hiked the coastal road back to the port, just a lovely, memorable day. (the views from mt Misen to the Setouchi sea and all the other islands around are hard to beat) Thanks for sharing, WGE.

It is a really great view from the very top you're right, one of the best I'd say - so scenic! Never done the hike though, it'll have to go onto the to-do list for the next time we visit!

how long would you recommend to spend there? half a day?

Id recommend a full day if you have time, you can have a more relaxed day exploring. Also Miyajima can get very crowded in the early afternoon. If you're pressed for time and travelling from Hiroshima, you could get to Miyajima early (say 9:00am) do all of the sites in the morning and be back in Hiroshima for lunch, but this would be a too quick in my opinion

Get there early before the hoards of crowds come in, do all the touristy stuff out of the way, and when the crowds come in (from 11am onwards) go up the hill. You can do all of it in half a day really.

Getting around is so time consuming… I spent a whole day there at a leisurely pace.

Ahh you've noticed my editing error 🤦♂️ I vividly remember having photo ready as well, I just forgot to include it in the final render!
