The bamboo forest is beautiful, and I imagine it would be hauntingly beautiful early in the morning.

You're probably right! The morning time would be beautiful. If we had stayed in Kyoto for a night or two it would have been amazing to visit in the early morning before the crowds

How long did it take to walk the whole fushimi inari path? :)

Another great vlog. Didn't think going to fushimi inara and the bamboo forest in one day was possible but it seems like a smarter thing to do. Also, favourite part of this video was honestly yall getting lost. I think that's the best part of traveling. The A and B are cool, but how you get from A to B is special. Question though... Any reason you didn't spend more time on kyoto? I was planning to split 8 days between kyoto and osaka so I'm curious why you only went to kyoto for one?

Glad to hear you enjoyed the video! To answer your question about Kyoto, we think 8 days between Kyoto and Osaka would actually be great. The reason we didn't was more related to having to work while we are on the road. If we had been on a holiday in Japan it would have been great to spend more time in Kyoto. We chose to stay in one location in Osaka for 7 days and do day trips to Nara and Kyoto just to feel a little settled because being on the road full time while working is tough, and changing accommodations often really takes a toll on us.

Mico did not make a mistake with that detour, it was as Bob Ross would say “a happy accident.” You see more things on your travels when you go off your planned route.😊

Did you do these sights in one day? Did you go back to Osaka or stayed over in Kyoto? The last temple looked gorgeous so I would love to squeeze that into my itinerary if I can do it in a day!

If it’s Shinto it’s a shrine. Not a temple. If it’s Buddhist it’s a temple not a shrine.
