Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free" is just one piece from Miyako's debut piano EP "Étude Op.23" which contains her interpretations and reimaginations of 6 famous metal/rock songs. Miyako mentioned that she wanted to showcase just how closely related metal is to classical music.

It's not just the fact that Miyako is capable of producing a virtuoso performance like this it's that her understanding of the music itself allows her to come up with an arrangement of this complexity and variety of styles while still managing to stay true to the original work . She truly is a phenomenon and a RARE talent !

I am glad y'all enjoyed experiencing Miyako play a full song on an actual grand piano instead of the Roland she has used with Lovebites. Apparently she is not a fan of the feel and weight of plastic keys or the lack of percussiveness of a digital piano. I am not sure if I have mentioned this but my youngest son is currently a junior majoring in Musical Theater at a Music Conservatory in Virginia. In preparation for auditioning for colleges and while at college, he has attended numerous master classes over the years. Miyako is one of the very few musicians I have seen that would be great leading a master class at a university level music school. She is world class in three musical disciplines - piano, guitar and musical composition. She seems to have a very calm and patient demeanor but I also sense she could unleash a death stare when needed.

Yes, we loved it. Thank you for requesting it! I (Itai) can totally see why she prefers the grand piano to the Roland, as I assume most piano players would. It looks, at least from my POV, like a completely different world playing on the gorgeous grand. Everything must be different, from the sound to the feel and texture. Fantastic! You did mention this about your son in the past. You must be very proud of him. Congratulations! Hopefully we'd be reacting to his work in a few years 🙂 I definitely agree as to Miyako's demeanor and, ever more so, her death stare 😆 Thanks again for your continued support, Dan. When you see the good Miyako here, you can quickly forget that she could switch to full metal mode (Miyako style, of course) in no time and knock you out with a killer guitar solo. That whole EP is amazing. The metal version of this song doesn't suit me personally, but Miyako's piano version is really great. I hope she does a lot more of these piano covers or...better yet, originals.

A Miyako Masterclass, thanks chaps, I really enjoyed that. Did you notice how she incorporated a fast guitar solo, followed by the bass break from.the original, and it all flowed seamlessly? She is a generational talent. The Metallica Battery piano cover is awesome, but on audio only, no video. Another video doing the rounds, but not from the Lovebites official channel, is Lost in the Garden, with a piano intro by Miyako of La Campanella by Liszt, a fiendishly difficult piece even for trained pianists. Miyako showed us how she learned this during a blog on her own channel, complete with mistakes (she's human!). By the time she played it on the Lovebites livestream last year, she had it nailed. A truly awesome musician. Cheers.

In addition to "EAGLE FLY FREE", "INSIDE THE PIANO (making video)" and "ADDICTED (LOVEBITES COVER)" are included on the DVD/Blu-ray as accompanying videos for the CD album "Miyako Etude Op.23" in which this song is recorded. Video is included. "ADDICTED" is a video made to pair with this "EAGLE FLY FREE". It's the same piano room, but the lighting has been changed to create a darker atmosphere with moonlight shining outside the window.
