ABOUT THE VIDEO
_
In this video, I talk about Miyamoto Musashi, as well as other philosophers like Plato, Socrates, Epictetus, Marcus Aurelius, and Seneca. I go into great detail over Principle 20 from Miyamoto Musashi’s Dokkodo: “You may abandon your own body but you must preserve your honor.”
The reason, to put it briefly, that the sages, such as Miyamoto Musashi, tell us to value our honour above our own survival is because it preserves our conscience, and keeping our conscience healthy is the only way to live a free and peaceful life.

I have to value my honor over all the other virtues to follow this philosophy. I am not sure if it will be worth it, though.

Hei! I know your channel since 2017 and I want to ask.. Why have you deleted most of your old videos? Some of them inspired me and I occasionally came back to watch them. They helped and motivated me a lot in the past. Really sad to see I can't rewatch them no more

they also removed 6 of their 7 most recent videos(this being the remaining one). Commenting here, I'm also curious about the reason behind the choice. Btw, they are not deleted, just private.

You have a talent for twisting his words to fit your own narrative. Your honor has little to do with "good" and "evil".

4:57- 'But unlike a psychopath, most of us are born with a good, functioning conscience...' Are you sure that morals and ethics are congenital rather than educational? If this was so, why judge and condemn the one who had no choice in being born a psycho?

I think it can be either, a person born with good conscience can become unethical according to their circumstances and at the same time a person born with no conscience can be made to have good morals based on their upbringing and circumstances So just because someone is born as a psychopath doesn't give them impunity to be a bad person

Miyamoto musashi would purposely be late and disrespect other peoples ideas of honor to get an edge in battle. Its funny imagining him and Socrates conversing

This is like the fourth time you've changed the look of your brand, why can't you make up your mind and be consistent, it makes your entire channel seem schizophernic

Why not keep your old art style? It was unique to your channel, changing the entire look of the channel (especially when you had great response from previous art style) can be very damaging. Im just curious why

He was so close to the truth. I love this guy but the quote should say “his honor is more important than your life.” And by him, I mean, Jesus.

I was glued... until the sponsor ad and then it all felt so incredibly cheap. Wheres your honour? Your honor must be worth less than the 20 bucks you're making from this video. That being said, I loved it until then, im just so tired of ads and everyone selling out to make money on KZbin. Noone does anything genuinely anymore.

To say something is done ingeniously because someone seeks to make a living from offering something of value for offering something of value is lame.
