Glad you caught the reason for his piercing tendencies, I hate when people was complaining he doesn't wear piercings anymore throughout the rest of the series when it's showing him changing for better

The piercings were essentially self harm. When I thought about this, paired with the fact that he has nine, it absolutely destroyed me 😢

Its refreshing that there is some new romcom that actually lean more on romance rather than the comedy Then you realize that horimiyas isn't even new Its a comic from mid to early 2010's

thats usually the shoujo, the one leaning more to comedy tend to be the shounen ones

yeap and actually this is really reallistic kinda too , i mean its not that it leans more in romance than comedy , its just that it uses correctly the comedy ,they don't overuse it everywhere unlike most of anime where they force it , thats why i tend to dislike comedy anime , but horimiya is my fav romcom and of my fav anime overall too , bcs it captures and spreads perfectly both the comedy but the drama too and makes it realaly an enjoyable series , and really reallistic too when it comes to romance and communication

Wait what?! The manga has been around that long and it took as long as it did to get an anime?! It doesn't feel like a series from the early 2010s. That's interesting. I wish they hadn't rushed the anime! It's already one of my two favorite romance anime, but it would be even better I imagine if they included more from the manga.

This episode rings true with the idea that people grew up to become the person, when we as kids, would felt safe around. I saw the idea that Miyamura did self piercing as self harm, but it didn't feel like the whole reason. I like the idea that he wants to "feel" more (which is one of the reason that people self-harm). Also, I don't think this is ever brought up, but he has ribs tattoo, which is famously known as really painful. Hammers down the idea that he did it to feel something.

you can really feel welcome into the rom com world, where people randomly fait for a mild fever out of nowhere so that the anime can create a cute moment :D it was all in all pretty cute tho, so we can forgive them.

Personally I hope you guys do watch it, not only does it really expand more on some of the other characters for example like Sengoku(the student council president) and all the characters relationships with each other, but also because the ending of the first season and the ending of Missing Pieces really compliment each other well(this might sound confusing but I feel like if you ever do decide to watch it you’ll get what I meant by the endings of both seasons “complimenting” each other) Lastly I found Missing Pieces to be more hilarious and Horimiya was already funny so that’s saying something.
