Thank you for the honest review. I am glad to hear the A30 is better with first updates, competition wise, tho a lot of questions arise about the testing within Miyoo before launching a product.

A30 all day. Spruce is getting a ton of support. Not to mention it’s got a great look and form factor. The buttons are way better too

This is a good in depth video! The MagicX Xu Mini M has now entered the ring, and seem to be picking up popularity, but to me the A30 still looks nicer. Would be interested in a follow up with that one You speak SOO fast, and it sounds like you've sped it up in post. I had to listen on 75% and then it sounded like you were drunk lol.

I appreciate the feedback on my speech it’s not sped up it’s something I’ve been working on my entire life. I think my newer videos might be getting better. That aside I’m testing the XUminiM right now. This is the one I’ve been waiting for. I believe I mentioned it in the video if not I know it’s in my written review. I should have a review up for it in a couple days. There is some custom firmware for it already so I’m trying to decide if it’s worth bringing into my review or if I’ll come back to it in a follow up. Thank you for taking the time to watch my video.

Seems like the second batch of these units is much better after the rocky launch. Good to see Miyoo addressing some of the initial problems, this design has a lot of potential. If it ever gets Onion OS this thing will be a definite buy for me

Apparently, they are working on an OS for the a30. Retro Handhelds KZbin channel posted recently on their community tab that it was in the works.

If it was me I would have designed to put in a decent powered chips I could find to fit in a micro and a 3" screen as well the a30 buttons that include the d-pad I don't mind the shoulder buttons on the 28xx and with the current standards of features in handhelds.I think they're doing this on purpose so they have something to improve in future revisions. Obviously the XX line besides the original has cfw's that works across the board which drastically improves this micro handheld in my opinion was that anbernic plan not sure, but I digress, l Would love garlic to come out eventually or onion but I'm really feeling mustard and boracera early on or whatever you want to call them, I am getting used to Anbernic os it's definitely getting better. One more thing the future clamshell of the miyoo design better be home run and maybe with some cfw later on if not forget about winning handhelds' community, but I'm more than satisfied with the 28 XX it just isn't perfect, but it's drastically better than some other ones in the micro handheld's scene. I almost have all the xx line of series of consoles, just decided not to purchase the Plus or the 24 edition, I prefer horizontal Handhelds.

I agree with a lot of what you said. I have all the XX series myself mostly use my 35xxH’s. I also enjoy horizontal. We’ll see how long garlic takes we got an update last week I think that they were about to start building it. It’s too bad cause there is a bunch of cfw’s fighting for that space, I think we forget how much the Miyoo’s sucked prior to getting onionOS. If they roll it out for the A30 it’ll bring some life back into it. Right now my favorite os on the XX devices is the stockOS for sure. It’s the Only OS that all the features and emulators work on.

People say these are tiny, but their screens are practically the same size as the old GBA. In two years I never felt the need to use the wifi on my Trimui Smart,...and I put my nudie pics in the Rom Imgs folders of my 28xx, so I can look at them through the file manager. 😉 Plus, I don't miss the sticks at all. N64, DC, PSP play just great without them. 😁 I do love the look of the A30 though, (certainly have better colour choices than the 28xx). They just need a bigger engine under the hood,...and a headphone jack.

There is a lot to be said about the screen size. I think you could leave it how it is and triple the overall handheld size and it wouldn’t feel small. I. Glad you found a way to get around the WiFi I,age viewing problem, similar to you I load them on am SD… I just have a separate SD dedicated to them 😂. Thank you for watching

They both remind me of the Micro not for me personally also the price really pushed me away too I think these are a bit overpriced for what they can do and what they are. Also the Anbernic comment about the buttons, I agree that RG556 was just nonsense if I had a 3D Printer I would build what I think to be the most ergonomic Anbernic device. Idk why they took this approach on the RG556. I would have liked it because of the internals if they perfected the externals. Otherwise it literally just sits right now.

I’m not a big fan of the 556 buttons but they don’t turn me off on the handheld. oddly my RP4 Pro sat for months after the 556 came out. It’s not that I don’t like it it’s just uncomfortable. I’ve got a grip for it but then it’s not a pocket device. so I would rather use the 556 or my odin2 at that point. I’m really hoping the odin2 mini is my happy medium but we’ll see. I got that $30 coupon and ordered all the buttons and hall sticks for my blue Odin2 in white… saved nothing lol

28XX looks solid but not sure I need one more device between the 35XXH and the RG Nano lol. 35XXH is pocketable enough for me. Btw, I think the Knulli cfw is already out specifically for the 28XX

I think you are right about knulli I wasn’t sure if it was still in Alpha. I’m a big fan of the 35XXH. I’ve got one in my pocket now

I love both but the A30 feels better in the hand. Just wish they did a better job with the software.

How is the 28xx double the power of the A30? They are both quad core SoC's with 1GB of RAM. Yes the 28XX is a newer SoC but I don't think it's double.

In testing it is roughly double. It’s like comparing same generation Intel and AMD processors with the same amount of ram. The SoC in the A30 is very outdated unfortunately.

I made fun of the tiny dpad and buttons on the 28xx but I honestly don't find them too bad and I have medium/large hands but the shoulder buttons on the 28xx are just plain bad. Especially L1 and R1 like you pointed out.

I’ve also gotten used to the tiny buttons. At first I was hitting multiple buttons but as in any controller eventually the brain figures it out. I just don’t know why with how much room they have did they make them so tiny.
