See, I did the fun thing. I chose to protect wyll, then saved his father anyway. Telekinesis is a powerful tool for getting him away from her trap. Sure, he takes a bruise from the thump. But he gets out of their range immediately, and will likely survive beyond that as long as you don't screw it up too badly. Hell, I sacrificed a follower to get him out alive. We can always buy them back later from Withers.

I just had Omeluum teleport him out. Gotta wait until after she springs her trap though, unless you want to fight explosive spiders in the submersible

I used arcane gate (after helping him up from the kneel command) to get him to saftey

Throw a supreme healing pot to get his hp high enough for the trap and then throw a haste pot after the trap and he can get out.

I used sanctuary to protect him with shadowheart. Just had him run out since the spiders can't target him with a damaage spell unless he's available to attack

I was *so* upset when I saved Wyll's father, only for Mizora to have *nothing* to say about it AND for the Duke to say that Wyll sold his soul to the fires of Hell to save him. I was so pissed off that I refused to do the rest of Wyll's Story Quest to meet Ansur; I did all that work already for no payoff, and honestly didnt believe that the game would *actually* let me convince a dragon to fight the final boss fight for me and "burn away the Absolute's armies" (I may be paraphrasing) like the Duke claimed... That just isn't how video games work, I wasn't born yesterday.

I had Wyll break his contract to save his life then proceeded to go save his farther in the Iron Throne anyways. Mizora was a bit annoyed. There is a way to have Wyll and his Father connect through the parasites so he can see everything. His father is much kinder to him after.

@@TonicBlade Yes, that's what I'm referring to. I went to the trouble of saving the Duke myself and screwing Mizora over, and she somehow never had a single thing to say to acknowledge that.

There was no way to knock out the Duke unconscious without killing him. The game deliberately sets it up so you end up killing him, instead of simply knocking him unconscious during combat, which I found annoying. However, I chose to have Wyll not resurrect his father, because there are fates far worse than death.

Despite being a warlock and the classic "tragic hero" who sacrificed himself and his humanity to fight for what he believes in. All things I love and resonate with. Wyll is such a badly written character imo. Nobody plays him or wamts him in the party. I forget he is in the game until they shove him in my face

I only use him in my party because I told Astarian to fuck off after he tried to slit my throat, and killed Karlach because I was roleplaying a lawful stupid Paladin and she was "clearly" a devil

⁠​⁠@@lolwhatidk He has significantly less content than every other character, with nearly 2 full hours of early access dialogue getting cut on release. The dialogue he does have is very bland and usually just states what happens without any sort of personal bias. A very “well that just happened” kind of guy. His “big choice” does not change him as a person and he doesn’t really experience development in his character at all. Wyll has no extreme opinions that can be overcome/reinforced or ambitions to chase, with him even getting over the death of his father pretty quickly if he chooses to sacrifice him. Even after killing Ansur and announcing that he will take his father’s place as grand duke, you don’t even have to pass a persuasion check to convince him not to. He just goes “oh ok” and then he’s the “Blade of Avernus”. Despite him being a person I would absolutely hang out with in real life, he just isn’t as compelling of a character as Astarion, Shadowheart, Gale, Lae’zel, and Karlach.

Gods i cant stand Wyll's character. Especially after watching this, knowing if you just wait until after the ceremony Wyll will basically shrug off his father's life for his own even after suggesting we could still save him (which you can)

Because he’s so used to Mizora rigging the game, he doesn’t believe there’s anyway to win anymore except by completely refusing to play. Remember in the beginning, with Karlach? And then later Mizora f%cking with him in the Shadowlands? He’s tired. He’s worn out. Rightfully so. If you’re a real friend, you’ll see him through it, and show him the bitch can be conquered, that she’s not so perfect as she claims to be.

Such a shitty story. I save Grand Duke only because he’s more useful than Wyll for that +30 health in final battle. Wyll can become a Lemure for all I care.
