Those 4 stars from years ago were made specifically to come as part of the base game to keep f2p players from quitting by enabling them to build competent teams while taking a year or 2 to fill out a 5 star roster. I'm not "glad" she is bad but I would put money on she will be a good option in a team we haven't seen yet. Took Dehya almost 2 years to do that. As for "not settling"......seriously what are you going to do about it? Go make your own game if it bugs you that much.

Mizuki to me feels like she is a future impact character similar to Kuki before dendro, in the sense that if they make an off-field anemo character that deals dmg via swirls she will most likely be that hypothetical characters BiS support. The thing is Mizuki fills a niche, that doesn't exist yet, in amplifying swirl dmg and will probably remain as such. Edit: After some more thinking I have a great comparision for Mizuki. I thought that how she amplifies swirl sounded familiar and that's because she buffs the swirl reaction in the same way as Nilou buffs bloom. So maybe we could think of Mizuki as a swirl Nilou with the upside of not having team restrictions but the downside that she can only be paired with off-fielders.

the problem is still that she needs to be on field and she cant normal attack while in her skill, so you would need atleast 1 good anemo off field DPS with another pech off field DPS/applicator that doesnt require normal/charged attacks so no xingqui yelan beidou thoma etc. if they let her normal attack to help apply elements or just let her work off field so you can run an anemo main DPS she would be decent imo. something else I was thinking about is wouldnt she be stealing swirls from the anemo DPS she is trying to buff?

"They made a 5-stars characters worse than a 1.0 4-stars" Genshin devs didnt even know the power of their own character when the game released, to this day Bennett, Xiangling and Xingqiu are the most broken supports in the game. Some people even say Xingqiu is better than Yelan. Also in my opinion Sucrose is on par with Kazuha and she is better than Venti. My Catalyst team is the same since 3.2 and i have cleared every Spiral Abyss with it without changing anyone. (Yae Miko, Nahida, Kokomi and Sucrose).

Yelan is better for anyone who doesn't run them together or need Xingqiu's defensive abilities. There are better options like Xilonen for defense (or just be good at dodging). Yelan c0 dps trounces his c6. There is a reason there are generally powerful 4*s that came out at or near launch. Need to add Sucrose, Diona, Rosaria and Fischl to your list even. They are a cadre of easy to get, powerful for 4* characters, that enable anyone to form most team archtypes for low investment. Game design basics. How many people would quit if they couldn't clear content before getting a few 5*s who synergized well? What about enough for both sides of Abyss? That is why they are there, not because they didn't understand what they were doing. They had at least a base understanding of power levels.

I don't really understand why people want genshin's roster to be "symmetrical". Like having the same amount of characters for each element, region, and weapon. And having hydro claymore or whatever. It literally doesn't matter. No one's genshin experience is harmed by the lack of geo standard unit. The uniqueness of each element, region, and character is a major part of the game's appeal. If the devs and designers limited themselves to filling rigid quotas for each category, the characters would surely feel a lot more bland and same-y.

It creates a lot more flexibility for team building. If you have a new option, it frees up your team to add a another strong character that you otherwise couldn't. Maybe having your Hydro character use a Claymore weapon could free up your team to add a Catalyst or Bow user from another element for example. Maybe you're having trouble getting a quality Geo character and a Standard 5* Geo would improve your account (especially if you're new or having bad luck with limited 5* Geo banners). More options is never a bad thing. Furthermore, with Imaginarium Theater around now which limits your elemental options, more variety is arguably even needed. What if Hydro is one of the elements that season and you need a Claymore user? Doubly so if you've struggled to get options from the other 2 elements? Or what if all three are lacking in something? The variety hurts your performance then. I had this issue myself in fact, Season 5 in November was Pyro, Electro, and Dendro. And those three elements happen to be the three worst elements in the game for sustain, the only 5* sustain in those three elements COMBINED is Baizhu, who I didn't have at the time and wasn't provided as a trial char (I did pick him up in 5.3's Chronicled so I have him now, but at the time he was not available for me), and there's not many quality options in general from those elements (Bennett, I've seen some say Thoma, that's about it). And I did struggle with that season specifically for that reason. You'd have to imagine, if there were a 5* Pyro sustain or a better Electro sustain than freaking Shinobu (I'm keeping my eye on Iansan's kit, she feels like she could fit the bill if they decide to make her sustain), I'd have done better.

You literally can not have a single geo 5 star on your account unless you specifically pull for one of the limited ones, this is an even bigger issue now that we get a free 5 star character every year. None of which will have a Geo option. An entire element missing from the game’s “budget 5 stars” list sucks. As for the hydro claymore, well.. some people just wanna mix it up a little. It gets kinda boring getting hydro catalyst after hydro catalyst/sword/bow. Every weapon BUT claymore. Once you notice the fact that not a single hydro claymore exist, but there’s an abundance of the other weapon types, you start to question why this is, and eventually start to want to see the list get completed.

I like her. I like her design, I love how she looks, and I think she's cute. And, to be honest, I have a thing for underdogs; I was going to use Bennett back in version 1.0 when everyone thought he was ass, I just didn't roll him for like a year and a half. But I'm a fan of Dehya, and Qiqi, and am working on both of them. I just... genuinely cannot spare the gems on her. And I despise Hoyoverse for being the kind of company that just murders these characters like this, and leaves them Yamcha'd on the ground.

if anyone confused of the business strategy, this is Loot box 101. increase the loots pool with use less items so that it make people less likely to get what they want. the standard banner has been there for a long while, so many people might be close to getting all of the standard banner characters. so you add a new standard banner character, that is so useless, you increase the loots pool so that people have less chance to get the standard banner characters that they want. all the while justifying it by saying you are adding new content to the game

Even if you only saved pulls from mail/archon quests and freemos from live streams/dailies/events for a year and didnt farm chests/have welkin you should have enough for 2 characters.....lets be honest, what did you spend them on or did you not actually play? I have only saved since I got Xilonen, had ~30 pulls left at the end of her patch and have no pity on my f2p account and already have a guaranteed Furina (granted that is with natlan chests and turn in thingy's and various world quests etc, but we are talking 3-4 months here and I really want Furina so I did the work).

What do you expect? She is going to be in the standard banner. After 4+ years of playing, I have plenty of units to choose from. Nowadays, I pull for looks/cons collection rather than Meta so Mizuki is cool in my book.

I've been playing for over a year, and I spent 100 wishes on the Chasca/Sucrose banner. I still don't have Sucrose on my account. (C...12? Barbara) That being said, I'm not pulling Mizuki even though she's arguably easier to get than a 4 star character at this point. Might grab her from the 5* selector if I lose a 50/50 to Keqing before the next time the selector comes around.

You won't regret Keqing if you like her. I still like to play her a lot both to drive hyperbloom and for aggravate. She still clears easy in most abysses and I have yet to meet one she couldn't clear. She is great against the Natlan void shields too. She is by far my favorite standard character (to play, I actually like Dehya's design slightly more).

Next banner will probably have amazing 4 stars Edit: about the Kazuha situation - on release he seemed like a Sucrose side-grade. After some time passed, he was deemed one of the best units in the game (I remember when he was called the best unit). Because of that situation, A LOT of people skipped him just to realise their mistake. Thus there was a huge hype

@logikx1325 my luck isnt very good, but the closest i get to that level is on zzz where ive got the unfortunate stat of failing every single banner i went for until miyabi where i succeeded 3 times back to back. The horror of my jane doe pulls still haunts me to this day, like 75 summons to fail her, then get her at around 76-78, then fail her w engine banner at 80 and get 23 away from getting it before the banner ended

Not every unit needs to be overpowered, especially when she is going to be available in the standard banner and therefore eventually obtained by everyone. The last thing we want to see is consistent powercreep like other gacha games.

It's a little sad but i can see Wriothesley rerun going the same way as the Eula one. I saw a decent number of people asking for that as well and then no one pulled because she was bad/mid. Personally though i am going for either his C1 or his weapon, he does not feel bad to play per say but i would like him to be as good as other Fontaine dps.

I don't think so. Eula took so long that people saved all the primos needed for her, but weren't willing to do crazy constellations bc of how physical is ignored by Hoyo. Wriothesley is more viable now, his new team is just a reskinned version of International with Mavuika, Xilonen and Citlali. Personally, I always found him clunky to use with the options we did have pre-Natlan, I disliked pushing my enemies out of Bennet's buff circle.

Video went from Mizuki bashing to wriothesley glazing. For me she looks like a comfy casual open world character. Not everyone likes to spam attack and one of my favorite units is Yae miko because I can set up turrets and switch off and they’re still going to town. It’s interesting to think if you like the character, you can pull for her now and know you’re 100% guarantee a free copy later in the year and when you lose 50/50s you have additional chances to pick up extra copies. I feel like most original standard 5*s are very undertuned when it comes to cons, but with Tighnari and Dehya their cons actually are quite impactful and I can presume all future 5* standards will get some decent cons.

I believe the thought process behind her release is this: A: she needs to be in the first half so some players may not skip her due to not knowing who will be in the next patch. Also new character means first half with exception of emile. B: she needs to be next to another less useful character so she looks less bad. C: their design goal was to make her weak so she was worthy of standard banner - the goal wasn’t to make a decent character then move her to standard like tighnari.

I don't pull on her banner but I think I will use her more than most of the other standard banner characters when i will get her. She is not made for abyss speed runs but exploring the overworld should be fine and fun. She is designed for overworld with her flying and self healing. I prefer such a standard character over bad main dps or buffer with big problems in her kit like Mona or Diluc.

I benched Arle because she was too strong and boring to play even before I ended up with c3 (from c0) trying to get just 1 LanYan (she is still c0 thanks to selector). Furina is one of my favorites though (with HuTao....リエリとイノリンは最高だ！) so I am biased towards her. Take that for what it is worth.

For Meta - C1....her weapon is hard to justify pre c4 because her energy needs are so big. Better off with the fishing weapon -fleuve cendre ferryman before that in my opinion - otherwise you will seriously gimp her artifact loadout with high ER requirements. (Favonius or Festering Desire are also solid options here) Edited to say - If you just like the way the weapon looks, do what you like before playing for meta, it will feel better in the long run. The fishing weapon is ugly enough it could've been a concord character.

So many baffling choices. Why another anemo one patch after Lan Yan and 2 after Chasca? Why another anemo 5 star on standard banner when Geo still is missing there? Why is she blocked off from normal attacks while floating around for 10 seconds, blocking her off from top tier sub DPS units like Yelan and Xingqiu? Why is her healing so meh (not very big healing numbers and they require you to run around and pick them up instead of being auto-heals like most other healers)? Why is she weaker than multiple 4 star characters even though she is 5 star? Why is something that should have been part of her base kit, her healing pickups doing both damage and heals instead of one or the other, locked behind a constellation as high as C4?

I would put money on she is going to be a good option in some team that is coming, maybe it's in Nod Krai, maybe Schneznaya. Hoyo tends to release standard characters long before they are useful....just look at poor Dehya. Hated on for almost 2 years. Now she at least gets a mid rating.

How does one buff swirls? Swirl damage is based off of EM. Then we've got VV and Faruzan. So how is she supposed to work? Mizuki's only saving grace, is for new players who don't have the other great healers or any anemo characters.

During her skill duration she basically directly buffs swirl damage depending on her EM, which I believe is around 0.43%-ish around talent level 9 per point of EM. It’s honestly not terrible scalings, it’s still half-competent considering her team building wants sub-dps’s to carry her. She’s honestly a brain-off-easy to play on-field anemo driver tbh.
