Hi, I ordered a full set 4-LW hot metal two weeks ago on a 30 day lead time but have since been told it could take until mid January 2021 until I get them at the earliest making it a total 3 month wait. Is there any chance this lead time could come in and I could get my hands on my set sooner? lol I’m so wanting them now
@myopenmind5274 жыл бұрын
@@lildvl10 45 degrees is what you should be looking for. That should be easily achievable with the JPX range since Mizuno will not strengthen a club if they can’t get you to hold the green. I suggest you got hit a few with trackman or Foresight in your local fitting centre and confirm this yourself. 👍

Hi, what's the difference please between the HOT METAL and the HOT METAL PROS. I play off 16 handicap and want ro purchase this set of 921s. Just don't know whether to get the HOT metals or the pro. Is it just the pros are slightly less forgiving and more slimmer profile. Any advice would be appreciated thank you
@billsinclair3133 жыл бұрын
@@richardking8879 I think the Hot Metal Pro is just as forgiving as the Hot Metal. The Pro is shorter on the blade length and has less offset. Here is a link, mizunogolf.com/us/golf-clubs/jpx921-series/jpx921-hot-metal/, scroll down the page and you can see the offset differences. Otherwise the are pretty much the same. I’m coming around to the idea of adding the 4 HMP into a combo with the forged 921 7-5 and maybe the PW-8 in the MP-20 MCC. Is that crazy?
@wallstreetoneil4 жыл бұрын
I play the 919 Hot Metal Pros, bent mostly 2 degrees weaker (PW,9,8,7,6,5) @ (47,42,37,32,28,24), with the DG 120 S300 shaft - and I'm a 5 handicap. After playing with them a lot, it began to bug me that I could see the back of the Hot Metal Pro 5 iron - grew up playing cavity blades so it just bugged me. I ended up ordering an MP-20 HMB 5 iron (can't see the back) and I actually like the thinner sole for ground interaction. I have demoed the MMCs and LOVED them. From a gapping perspective, my last iron is the 24-degree HMB 5 iron - I then goto 21&16 degree hybrids - 21 is the traditional loft of a bladed 3 iron and 24 is a 4 iron (which my HMB 5 iron is 24 degrees). After watching all the KZbin videos on the 921 Forged - that seems to be the club that I would be looking at this time as a comparison to the MMCs which I loved (these came out after I bought my 919 Hot Metal Pros). I think I would be tempted to form a set of MMCs (PW-6 iron), where 6 iron is 28 degrees (exactly how I play my current set), and then look at the 24 degree Forged 5 iron or the 22 degree Hot Metal Pro 5 iron (I would bend to 23) or the 25 degree HMB #5 (which I would bend to 24 - like I have done with my current set).
@Zuffa134 жыл бұрын
Paul O'Neil Interesting thank you. Perhaps I’m over complicating it and a combo with the forged and HMP is enough. I’m used to using blades when I was younger and game AP2s but age is catching up with me.... As a side note have you ever considered a 7 wood at 21 or 22 degree? I’m also considering dropping the 3 & 5 wood and going for a 4 & 7 combo. Ive never really figured out how to consistently hit hybrids and I like the higher spin of the 7 wood.....and 3 wood off the deck is, well, a 3 wood off the deck. Might also test the utilities on the market as an extra club to swap for 7 wood for those days where I need a lower ball flight
@wallstreetoneil4 жыл бұрын
@@Zuffa13 Given you are playing AP2s, I played the very original year of them before buying the 919 Hot Metal Pros, and you are looking for more help, and likely running out of clubhead speed at the top of the bag to hit an iron off the deck high enough that has a traditional 24 degree 4 iron blade loft (now modern 5 iron non bade loft), I would either stop your iron set at 5 iron or even at a 27 degree 6 iron (traditional 5 iron) - and then go into a 24/25 hybrid and then the 21/22 degree 7 wood. The #6 Big Bertha Hybrid with an F2 or F3 (Senior or Regular flex) Recoil Graphite Shaft would be a great choice for the Hybrid - I bought my partner one and it is easy to hit high and is adjustable down 1 or up 2 degrees in loft for gapping - she then jumps to the same Big Bertha Hybrid #4 which is 21 degrees, also adjustable, and then straight to driver. I have done tremendous testing of clubs at the top end of my bag to get the right heights and controllable shot shapes (that was key for me) and I did experiment with different hybrids and 5-woods all in the 23-16 degree loft ranges to fit my bag. Because they have further strengthened the lofts of the Forged and the Hot Metal, and they have vastly improved the Forged in terms of forgiveness/launch and distance, I would order the Forged PW-6 or PW-5, and I would order them 1 degree weaker in the PW-6 leaving the 5 at 24 degrees. The Forged specs are (PW,9,8,7,6,5) @ (45,40,35,31,27,24) - this would give you (46,41,36,32,28,24) when weakened 1 degree. I hit my current #6 28-degree Hot Metal Pro 185 yards carry and my 24-degree #5 HMB with a lighter graphite shaft 197 carry. I then go to a Taylormade Gapr #4 22-degree that has been opened to 21 degrees, re-shafted with a heavier 110-gram Graphite i110 SteelFiber Shaft shortened 3/4" to 39.25". I love the GapR High as it is small and compact. It produces a mid/high flight and I can draw and fade it - but it has a stock 7-yard draw built into it which I prefer for that club. For me, that next club was the challenge to find one I could actually game - not just range hit - and also fit my bag from wanting to be able to hit certain shots - both a controllable and repeatable shot shape into the green but also off the tee on tight Par 4s. I have a Callaway Sub Zero 18 degree 5wood, which is amazing at the range, but I find that I don't trust it into greens because it can Draw too much. I ended up using a Callaway Epic (1st generation) #2 Hybrid 18 degree with a 90-gram F4 flex Recoil shaft, played open to 17 degrees (and shortened 1/2"), and this would produce a leaking and repeatable fade which was perfect - teed up I could concentrate and produce a small draw - but it was great to have that fade built it. I just replaced that club, I still love it but the sweet spot is not large, with a Mizuno 2020 CLK #2 16-degree Hybrid. I like this hybrid a lot because it is very good low in the face off tight lies. I think I maybe should have ordered the #3 19-degree and opened it to 18 as that would have made the club straight/fade biassed - as it is, the sock shot seems to be a 5-7 yard draw - if I play it opened to 15 degrees it is dead neutral - but I lose the height. I ordered the club with the 94 gram Tensei White in TX flex, and 1/2" short, and it is an amazing combo the flight is more predictable and repeatable than the 18-degree Callaway #5wood - and it acts like a very easy to hit driving iron that I can use off tees - just like my Epic #2 hybrid - just wish it 'naturally' faded. In summary, order to Forged PW-6, maybe 5, get that 7 wood - and maybe also look at some of the larger, easier to launch hybrids for that 24/25 degree club (the old traditional #4 blade)
@Zuffa134 жыл бұрын
Paul O'Neil Cheers for the extensive reply. It’s funny because when I was younger I played off 3 but never had any custom fitting or any fancy clubs. The blades were a hand me down from the club pro who used them himself. Slazengers actually! I had a decent Ping Answer and splashed out on a Big Bertha but otherwise nothing special. And here I am 20 odd years later looking at spending my yearly salary back then on a new custom set up now 😂 It’s clear though I need to spend some time getting the numbers right and testing testing and testing. The last hybrids I hit were 10 years ago so maybe these days its a different story also. Thanks again and plenty of food for thought here
