Mizuno Neo Zen First Run Review: A plateless, punchy all-rounder?

I love my pair! Done everything from 5:30/km - 3:15/km pace and it does well! The straight last and width means it's surprisingly stable given how soft it is in my view

​@@buntyboomboom2978 I also own the Balos, but only use for my recovery runs sometimes. Im not a big fan from fresh foam. The NZ is more like fuelcell but a little more pleasant. Try both sizes TTS and one size smaller in the NZ its a bit roomy shoe

Nice shoe but too squishy bouncy if that makes sense. After 3 miles I wanted something firmer and more controller but def a fun bouncy ride if you’re after that.

For easy running it feels like a more cushioned rebel v3. Rebel v3 I can take for intervals, the Neo zen It feels sluggish.

Why are these shoe features only available now when we the runners have known for decades what we needed that hadn't been addressed? And isn't it funny how shoe makers are all coming out with variants of the same features? It happens with every generation of the latest and greatest. Same with cars. Why? Pretty hard to convince us consumers that there aren't cartels out there for everything we use in our lives.

money. 10 years ago the most expensive running shoe was $150. Then after Nike came out with the carbon plate they found out that people will actually pay 300 for running shoes. bigger amounts of foam and "premium foam" was another way (along with plates) to make people think that it's worth the money...
