I searched everywhere for a deadbolt that would fit the older, smaller hole in my front door and was on the verge of trading my broken lock with one from a seldom-used balcony door (and having to install it upside down), or asking for help from my ex - neither of which I wanted to do - when I happened on your video. It was just another lucky happenstance that I had bought the right model deadbolt the day before. Do you know how much stress and hassle you have saved people by making and posting this? You certainly have my undying gratitude!

Dude, You saved my rear end!!!!!! I was at my daughters new house, new to her and her husband, but about 20 years old. Had four sets of deadbolts and door knobs to replace. Took the first deadbolt off and found 1.5 inch holes!! Damn, now what? Enlarge the holes, hire a locksmith? No, you came to my rescue. I have done a million doorknobs and deadbolts over the years but never, ran in to this problem before. After watching your video, we, had all four installed with in an hour or less. A huge thank you for making this video. You rock sir.

Thank you SO VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! Didn't want to have to drill through my door to make a larger hole and take the chance of ruining the door. I was stumped but you solved my problem. Lock went on easily! I bought a combo lock set with the bolt and bottom lock keyed the same. It was Schlage FB50N V Ply 505 and it has the same deadbolt as the single 60N so if you want to have both locks keyed the same without a locksmith bill, you can do it. The combo set was only $46.98 before tax at home depot.

The lever which throws the deadbolt also needs the clearance. I wonder if that’s where the hitch at the end was coming from? Because I’m in this situation right now, and that’s my concern about this alternative.

The B60s in HD don't come with that sleeve anymore. Only the deadbolts included in a set with a doorknob still have the sleeve. I don't need a doorknob though.

Can you do that with a keyless pad deadbolt for 1 1/2 inch hole?

i want a deadbolt for this size hole that is 'keyed' on both sides. Does Schlage make a B60 series (or similar) for this smaller size hole that will would like your demonstrated for the one you have here?

Why downgrade from a medeco deadbolt to a schlage

MJ:Films so call a locksmith and have the medeco rekeyed. You just lost all the extra security the previous owner paid for.
