The remarkable difference between Mike and the rest was just how smooth and calm he seemed when he played. Especially when on offense where most players sort of panic like a deer in headlights with the ball, mj always seemed like he knew precisely WHEN he was going to shoot.... It didn't matter what the defense did he wasn't dictated by the defender. It was his pace. Others looked like they were playing a game of hot potato with the ball. Mj always had grace... Watch the replay of the baseline fadeaway over Penny at 3:08. You can see one of the most important elements that made that shot so unguardable. He uses his hips and rear to bump Penny enough to knock him off balance and create seperation, about 2 feet of space. Penny is nowhere near that shot when he jumps to contest it. Combine that strength with leaping ability and the ability to hit tough shots, and it's almost unstoppable.

@paeng4610 жыл бұрын
I can compare James to the young Karl Malone in his young NBA years, especially when they both age at 24 and 25. Both also played the same forward positions and are prolific scorers, except that James had a three year head start at age 19. But even then, Malone's numbers in stats are a way better than James for any respect (at ages 24 and 25). I think the only consideration you can compare James to Jordan is his popularity in the sport.
@paeng4610 жыл бұрын
therealist811 Yes. You also have to reckon the ambiguity effect (in psychology) that the present day sports networks and media brought to the present day audience. Jordan's popularity is still there; but not so much to the younger generation who followed James's games in the present day NBA. One thing is, they almost prefer to watch James videos in KZbin over Jordan, because it's on HD (High Definition).

It's amazing how MJ averaged 30 im his career without the 3s and with all the harsher rules back then. To put that into perspective, Bron and Kobe averages are 27 and 25 respectively, and these guys utilized the 3 ball due to the spacing in today's game. This is simply an anomaly.

That's something to consider but numbers in sports always have to be contextualized: - Kobe came into the league straight out of high school, so his game wasn't nearly as developed as Jordan's was when he entered the league. He barely played as a rookie and didn't start until his third season. - He also had to play with Shaq until he was in his 9th season. All of these things made it virtually impossible for him to have a career average that would rival Jordan.

Johny Kilroy I was wrong about it being the following year, you were right there, I'll give you that. He did destroy them the following year but this wasn't the next year video. However, you're completely wrong on your second attempt at a point. BJ was on this video, which you yourself said is plastered with 1995 playoffs. Anyone who is an NBA fan knows that this 94/95 year was BJ Armstrong's last years with the bulls until he came back in 99/00 for a year, so unfortunately no, everyone DOESN'T know he was only on the 91-93 championship teams. Count the number of times he actually dribbled......... players like LeBron have to pound and pound the ball for 15 seconds to get theirs . MJ’s efficiency was on a different level. If you gave him 1 inch of daylight he was shooting his j

this is the game that Anderson created by talking smack to MJ, which when you flip that switch he WILL make you pay. That was my favorite thing he would do, would always back himself up with action.

Hard to believe that during the controversy surrounding Jordan's shoes, Steve Kerr commented that Mike should be fined "'cos they're so embarrassing looking." I mean, Steve! I know you were money from deep, but where's your taste in kicks?!
@vincespell3 жыл бұрын
What's funny is Mike took on the blame for them losing this series against Orlando! The leader of the team, just back from a year's hiatus and he's putting up 38 points and 4 steals dominating his opponent. Unlike others, Mike being the "True Leader" of the team took the lost on his shoulders and gave reason that he was in basketball shape when clearly we can see that he was. It wasn't Michael that let the team down it was the team that let Michael down.

naw he got fined for wearing Concorde XI's if you c all the other players wearing black shoes and this is the first time he wore the 11's and they were more white
@RetepAdam9 жыл бұрын
I think it was actually the Bulls who got fined for allowing him to change numbers mid-series without reporting it, but yeah.

+JEFFMAN90 It's his habit. Challenging NBA rules. He did that in his rookie year with his sneaker. Then wearing longer short than what NBA regulation of short length back in the 80s (Which is quite embarrassing to wear to be honest).

People forget this is just game no 23 after the return. Players/teams take an entire regular season (+ preseason) to get into shape and rhythm.
@peters61196 жыл бұрын
Just so athletics. He moved better than everyone on the court to free himself up for scoring opportunities. Then it was a matter of hitting a 15 foot pull up with space he created for himself. And if anyone was near him with the ball there was the threat of a steal. Amazing. And this was the season he just came back and they didn't win it all. The next 3 years they were just so dominant and so was MJ.

Mike made it a personal thing. There was a different fire inside this man that NO other player in the history of any sports can and won't be able to tap into. It not just being competitive. It's a uniqueness that only God gives to only one person. Look at the two times when the double team came from the big man. He used the aggression of the big man's help as a screen to shield off the initial person guarding him then knowing if he attacked the big man against his momentum he would have a clear shot.
