I think Elijah decided to die the moment Hope relayed her mother’s message about saving him a dance. At that moment he knew for sure there was an afterlife. He was done living on earth. He found the first honorable way to die that came his way and took it. It wasn’t about Klaus. Klaus was just his excuse. In the end, Elijah used him to get what he wanted after so many years of the opposite. But it was also a fulfillment of his life’s mission so it was poetic in a way.

People always forget that when it comes to Elijah that surr he suppressed his memories himself but all he felt was all the pain and the truth is Elijah had suffered more than any other character in that show he had the most pain so all he knew was with his brothers all he felt was pain and hayley he didn't know who she acc was or hsi feelings for her all he knew was his feelings for his new girl and that his old life was full of pain so you cant blame him for what happened with hayley

And, looking back, the only reason Marcel even grew to dislike/hate Elijah as a kid was because Elijah “abandoned” him in terms of teaching him to play the piano and wanting to be like him. But Elijah had noticed Klaus getting jealous of the bond he was building with Marcellus, so he pretended not to like the kid so Marcel would lean to Klaus instead, which is the love Elijah knew Klaus needed. I swear his intentions with Klaus’s “kids” are always honorable and he always gets the short end of the stick 😭 (no pun intended with the final dagger moment lol)

When you have younger siblings whom you love, youre willing to do anything to make sure theyre safe and make sure if they make a mistake you want them to be redeemed. Elijah loved his brother and dying by his side after seeing his redemption is all he ever wanted. Klaus was pretty evil hes done so much. Seeing his brother redeemed was all he ever wanted. Tbh it may not be what YOU like. But the real elijah wanted this more than anything.

It stared 1000 years ago....they were family and Elijah saw his little brother getting abused and tormented by his own father!.. He was eldest brother and loved Klaus than other siblings... And for him it was his responsibility to save his brother...... Remember when Klaus asked him to run with him from Mikael when they were kid.... ELIJAH didn't.. Because of Kol and Rebekah!!. Klaus got tortured and lied by all... His Real father didn't save him even after knowing the truth.... And all these lies from his family made him a monster and Evil person along with paranoia.... Klaus was unable to trust anyone literally!! And for Elijah.. It was his responsibility somewhere.... Because he didn't run when they had chance! So that's why Elijah was always there for his brother... Eventually Klaus got his 'unconditional love ' ..... And learn to love his family... Actually he always did.... But that's the story about the brothers, about family who always stick together No matter what! ....they hated, conspired sometimes... But more than that they loved ekch other and died for their family!! Elijah's character was totally incomplete without Klaus!! ....they both complete each other and meant to be die together! It was story of 'redemption ' of someone who didn't want to die ever!... And I think it had very heartbreaking end but still it was perfect and really meaningful

It wasn't Elijah's fault. It never was. People go on hating him for Hayley's death,but he did not have his memories. It was not his fault. Klaus would hurt him again and again and he would bear it. But if he ever striked back, he was hurt badly. He lost three woman he loved (Tatia,Hayley and Celeste) and one woman he deeply cared for (Gia) It wasn't his fault. He didn't do this. He,of all people deserved better. Klaus blamed him for something he didn't do. Klaus never really loved his brother. Elijah, of all people, deserved better. Much,much better.

Um, yes, it was his fault. Remove Elijah from the equation and Hayley would not have died. Elijah made Klaus physical incapable of doing anything but watching as Hayley sacrificed herself. Having no memories does not exonerate him from his role in her death. In fact, erasing his memories was a choice he made himself, so he himself set this in motion.

J. A. Klaus hasn’t done that for years on that show, the fact you think that makes me really doubt you watched anything of Originals. Besides, not having memory doesn’t count as an excuse. Elijah, even without his memories, should know killing someone in his family or just in general a mother is wrong. He committed the action free of force. He still killed Haley, no matter whatever excuse, his actions still lead to her death.

Elijah was a great character.I know a lot of people were upset that he chose to die with klaus and to be honest they were fair to be so.But I feel like it was inevitable.Elijah's want for Klaus's redemption and happiness was borderline obsessive.It was as though he couldn't just let that go and be on his own.His guilt over not being able to save Klaus from Mikeal and then playing a direct role in putting the hybrid curse on him got ingrained in his soul.The murder of Tatia at his hand didn't help either.Elijah believed he was chasing Klaus's redemption because he loved him and was responsible for him.But I think subconsciously Elijah wanted Klaus redeemed so that he himself could be redeemed.Like all the members of his family were messed up but he chose Klaus over everyone pretty much 99% of the time.He literally got his memories erased to keep himself away from Klaus.The ever patient and noble Elijah couldn't trust himself to not succumb to his instinct of following his brother.Interestingly I think Elijah was only calm and restrained because Klaus was always ready to go berserk.In season 3 Klaus started practising some restraint and we saw Elijah becoming rash and doing the 'evil' stuffs that Klaus always did to keep their family safe and together.This spriral lasted till the end of the show.He followed his brother to death to finally get the redemption he sought for his brother and himself.
