Loved this. Just came back from Charleston but did not have a chance to tour any homes. Ate some really great food though 😊

Love all these historic homes, and have toured every one (as well as the Calhoun Mansion on Meeting St), on my numerous trips to Charleston. The Edmonston-Alston House was my first historic home to tour, and still the best in my opinion, though they all are worth a look. They sure don't build things like that today!

Just love the beauty of those old homes. Such art!

Don't think architecture, furniture and interiors have got much better since then. These houses seem so elegant, and designed for gracious living. It seems like people had finer taste, in those days.

The last scene shows a view Castle Pinckey from the Edmonson-Alston House. Since this video was made, Castle Pinckey has been cleaned up, the growth considerably cut back, and a large Confederate flag flies from the old fort.😊😊😊

This house should be preserved and protect at any cost. The fact that most artisans are incompetence nowadays to do the carvings and all fixtures are standardize depends on machinery are some matters to be concerned of. Look at the stairwell! If they can, it just expensive.

One of the last living Rhetts became a recluse in the Aiken-Rhett House. As the story goes, this woman had sealed herself in her bedroom, and, VERY SELDOM came out. Just before the house became a museum, she died in the house. Her ghost haunts house, and,she wasn't happy about the changes being made.😮😮😮😮

It is constantly mispronounced. I was raised in Detroit area, and they bastardize all the beautiful French names. In Mpls, the main shopping street, Nicollet (after the explorer), is pronounced "Nicklet" like it is some cheap gum! Hurts my ears!!

I like Charleston South Carolina it's beautiful especially the historical part the streets that you know that the bread and oh yes it's beautiful I wish the person that was a multi-millionaire we just absolutely just donate me one of these homes they can afford it it's a tax write off of them and I can live out the rest of my days knowing that it will for once I lived in a beautiful place in my life.
