UConn struggles against teams with speed. Marquette is quick. Paige had an off night. It's going to happen. But it was also partly because Lott played good defense on her. Made her work hard to come off screens. Be that as it may, team showed they can win an ugly game. Love Aaliyah. What is maddening is the constant hesitation to pull the trigger. To think pass first is commendable...but to hesitate to shoot an open shot because you're thinking pass all the time is a killer. Any kind of hesitation is a killer. It seems to be contagious with this team.

The hesitation factor has cost this team four years of short trips to the championships. You shoot it? No you shoot it? We ran out of the shot clock time several times this game?? Geno is going to have a heat attack someday from that! No court awareness. You can see Paige is Frustrated with her teammates as well, not tired. The worst is Williams. She has had three years to prove herself and she is turning out to be the choke artist in the big games. Why can’t Geno bench her to show her she isn’t doing her job consistently. Start Aaliyah! I have watched Williams since she came on the team along with Ododa. They need to WANT a National Championship more than all of the others? Show some fire please! Ododa is getting better because Aaliyah is two times better than her and showing her up badly. How you can be 6’ 5” and have no ball control is beyond me? She insists on catching the ball with ONE hand! I doubt she can even palm the ball she is so weak! Come on ladies! You are going to have to do MUCH better. You have a large target on your heads going into the tournament as usual. Go huskies!

She just might be tired. high school to college basketball is a big transition. She did well adjusting in the beginning but I can imagine playing so many minutes has finally caught up. Still a goat tho I’m kind of glad her teammates are getting a chance to prove why they’re in the number one team. Although Paige is an amazing player, kind of gets tiring hearing her name and only her name during commentary.
